I think it’s more related to the edges pushing it up (or not allowing it to fully seat) check the edges in blue and opposite corner. Does it touch premature before it’s fully seated? When you press it in does it almost spring back?

^^ I got a note from him (@Malvolio) today (not grabasshandle related). He (or his online identity) appears to be alive.

BTW, I consider @tonered my intellectual superior on 1,000,000 things but not on grab handles. This one had stay-the-f-away written all over it and then some.

And I'm no ktjo hater, I have the inverter mod and bowl lights and they are very nice mods, reasonably priced, work well, decent quality, etc.

Just this one. This specific one. W T F were/are you all thinking? How could this be anything less than an exercise in idiocracy?

Anyway, cheers my TW asshandle brethren. I drink on your behalf.

So now you seen my covers @Malvolio does yours look similar? Possibly the cause of not seating fully.

I didn’t take pictures of the after sanded edges but plan on removing it tomorrow to bent the top bracket in. So I’ll take close ups of the covers to try and show how much I sanded/filed off, how much it seats in now and my duct tape lifter in the rear

So... I fall under the clipnut/speednut is not correct size category.

What are the recommended course of action? Change it the clip nut? Go for a large sizes bolt? Or change out both?

    Don’t size up the bolt

I’m still trying to figure out what clip nut I want to get. I bought the “self centering” dorman but don’t like out it’s suspended 1/2” above the bracket causing everything to be pushed up. I want to get one that’s more flush to the top (smallest panel thickness clamp). Thhe only thing I found on McMaster is… wait for it

Also, it looks like your covers sit pretty flush unless it’s just the angle.

Mine already came installed, and was a little too flushed. Had to use a fine screwdriver to pop them out, made a couple of scrapes, but just sanded them down.

    Thank you.

Found the self centering clip nuts at Guam Home Center. Those are the ones I used when I did my install. I think it was 96 cents.

Still no response. Hoping since she allegedly works a M-F job that I could possibly hear from her or one of her lackeys this weekend. I'll just be going down the list of contact emails and phone numbers @tonered has been kind enough to link and keep updated for us and sending one every few hours this weekend.

I have plenty of coffee, whiskey and hate to fuel my passion for getting the response I should have received days ago from this dipshit. I can't think of one business that I've contacted in my life that has taken 5+ days to respond to a warranty/return/refund/exchange request.

Will give me something to do when I'm taking breaks while changing out that damn needle bearing in the front diff.

Let me tell you, I know the feeling going thru what I went thru BUT my 1st problem is nearly remedied, where I get my hands on my Grab Handle:broccoli:and I'll be able to move on to the next phase where I can size up the hardware, clip nut, bolt cover fitment. Then hopefully I get to move on the Phase 3, The Install! Much to look forward to
I keep returning to this thread for the advice & tips to install this Plug n Play add-on.
