TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

i need to fix some exhaust rattles. seems some v-bands may have failed.

 

Mine was the heat shield by the ypipe

 

One of my heat shields is loose also despite being tight. They don't fare well under the heat circumstances they see on a constant basis. I need to add a washer to each of the two nuts.

 

I just screwed a few self tapping sheet metal screws in various spots and it seemed to work.

 

That's not a bad idea actually, but I don't like using self tappers on the truck unless I absolutely have to.

It’s pretty easy you still need to modify. I had thr 4runner setup then added wilwood calipers but had to cut a bit to clear. Not too bad.

Haven't been to active in here lately. Still been reading but been spending all my money on this new toy I will be putting together this weekend (just the main parts are loosely slid together). Also going to be changing my gear oil this weekend as I have finally gotten 500 miles on the new rear end. Right now I am wasting time while I have my inventory crew counting parts. Inventory is so much fun! LOL But at least I know the crew on this thread is not stopping with cross flow of information and advancements in knowledge in all things boost! But given my luck with rear ends, I am afraid to chase more. Tell me I am just being scared and need to do it. More power and 35's, can it be had if not towing 7500lbs anymore with the TRD elocker rear end? Cheers gentlemen.

 

Gearwrench generally has some decent stuff. Id likely consider that if I didn’t find the craftsman

Hey everybody! Happy New Year to all! Sorry for the delay in updates. Don't think I have forgotten about you guys! There wasn't really much to update, due to the halt in production from COVID. But good news!!! I emailed Gerald this week, and he said they have just received the shipment of kits prior to the New Year, and will be available on their website in the coming weeks. I also asked if there would be a TW groupbuy or discount code. More to come!

Ha of course! Would be perfect timing as I will be dropping some fluid when I install an e-fan setup very soon. Toss these in at the same time.

 

Hell yea! Recover some of those lost ponies with the fan delete. I need to look into that as well. I also want a bigger radiator. Saw an FJ CSF radiator for sale in the marketplace.

 

Get it! I have the Tacoma CSF as well. Need a bigger trans cooler to top it off.

 

Ooo....haven't thought about that. Recommend any for an upgrade?
