I already had the rear override switch in place for possibly a year or more.

I recently bought the video harness, relay, camera and switch to set up the front.

I had everything together with alligator clips just to verify it was done right before I made the permanent connections and EVERYTHING worked as it should. It got late so I put it down for the next day. The next morning, I took my kid to daycare with the stereo not bolted in and it did fall out while rounding one corner.

Later that afternoon, I pulled everything out, checked or redid the connections just for one last verification and NOTHING works with regard to the cameras. I had to go to the farm, so I just made all the connections permanent, bolted the stereo back in place.

Now - backup camera works as it did from the factory, in reverse only. All AC/heater controls don't work (but the heater does blow), windows don't work, compass in mirror doesn't work, auto headlights don't work. UNLESS I am in reverse AND the override switch in set to 'Rear' - then all the controls work as they should. But the front override doesn't work, because I am not getting power to the relay. So, if I take all the aftermarket harnesses out of the equation, all those controls mentioned do not work, even when in reverse.

    WTF??

Does this tell you folks anything that sounds familiar?

If I short the two override wires at the factory plug (which is exactly the same as switching to 'Rear' setting) it does the same thing - sounds obvious but I think that tells me that I damaged something on the other end of those wires when the stereo fell out...

When the stereo fell, did it yank on the harness? Maybe pull out some other connections behind the dash?

I’m thinking you either pulled a wire out of something or broke a wire somewhere

There's a popped fuse. Pretty sure mine did this too. Check under the driver's footwell

So there is something strange still happening. I drive everywhere in S-mode - now when I turn the front camera on, the 'S' on the dash disappears and when I turn it back off, it says 'D'. If I shift out to D and back, then it returns to 'S'.

Also, my check engine light is on and my traction control is deactivated. I haven't had a chance to pull the codes yet, but will do and report back...also more fuse hunting, I suppose.

That's a lot of odd symptoms for a blown fuse.

By better half has a 2020 Nissan Rogue. I installed after market fog lights, and when running wires through the firewall had to remove the air box. When "I was done" I started the car and had every light and error message you could think of on the dash. After backtracking the install, I saw that I forgot to plugin a sensor on the air box - seems like a lot of scary warnings and messages for one forgotten connector.

I would start by pulling all of the aftermarket bits and see if the issue persists.
