The guy was a multimillionaire so it would not surprise me If it were real, the picture was when it was a major auction.

Not sure what you mean by “stripped down”. First thing I noticed was the incorrect color coded custom painted wheels. After your post I went back in to see what you meant about stripped down. All else looks factory correct for a Judge besides the custom painted wheels. It is such a strange thing to do for such a rare model GTO. Could be a clone so they went freestyle with it. But it is a strange thing to do if it is a real Judge.

Yes, thanks. I knew there was a darker hue than B5 I just didn’t know the number.

Edit:I dug into my archives for this. Every 1970 CUDA color represented on this car. This is a tribute car to one that Plymouth originally used in advertising the color chart back in 1970. That car went to different auto functions for advertising. As you can see the three blues B5 is the middle shade. When I had mine in that color I didn’t know how sought after the color was until years later and doing some research.

As you can see the drivers side is the original dark green that this car came with. While doing this color chip tribute the builder decided to keep one side correct / original and only to the color chip chart to one side of the car. Pretty cool in my opinion.

Judges were not stripped down. This one was probably just ordered with steel wheels and hub caps because the first owner planned to install aftermarket wheels and tires as soon as he got it home. That was common back then, but purist restorers usually replace the wheels that they were delivered with to make it factory "correct". This car probably ran Cragers or similar period correct wheels when it was new.

Actually 1969 Judges only came with Rally II wheels which were steel wheels painted silver and in Judges they were beauty ring delete no option for a body color wheel for the Judge. On regular GTO’s the beauty rings were available. There was few options you could order on the Judge as it was its own unique package. Early versions of the 1969 all came in carousel red [orange] paint. Later in the 1969 year numerous color options were available. Interior choices for the early Carousel Red cars was only black or an off white called Parchment. The only motor option for the 1969 Judge was a Ram Air IV the standard motor for the 1969 Judge being the Ram Air III. So yes not many options were available on the 1969 Judges as it was its own unique model. With the regular GTO’s the option list was extensive.

...^^^... Makes sense ... IIRC, back then you could special order almost anything from the factory ... not like that today.

See post above, not on Judges you couldn’t. But on many regular muscle cars the option list was extensive.

Another car I had some experience with was Rick Brewer's 67 Corvette. SS/IA National Record holder, multiple class winner. Motor was a Mike McKeown 327 (we had 2), JW powerglides (2). Always under index and National Record was 9.57 I think. Fellow in the yellow T shirt is Dave L. from the Cape in Fl. He's the de-stroke master. LOL
