Oilite bronze is cool stuff. Used to be look that up on wiki and it told more about inventor and first uses or so I thought. Now it just mentions used by Chrysler in 1931. Neat when you machine it the oil will seep out a little. The shop has several different diameter pieces of the stuff. It keeps my windmill in line with the wind or let's it pivot I should say.

I wondered if I could buy the round stock and make it cheaper. There are 16 pieces in this kit, 2 different diameters and I got it shipped to me in 2 days for $80. Doubtful I could buy the 1” stock and make it in that much time. Not to mention I’m a dummy with a lathe not a machinist, so they might not be...accurate

$5.00 a piece thats not bad. Sometimes making a part yourself is more work than it's worth when you can purchase them.

I was caulking this morning, getting ready for second coat on my screen back porch. Happy painting!

Ran out of paint, went and got more and when I came back I thought I’d just go ahead and start putting the trim up and deal with painting the rest in the morning.

That looks really good, I too was skeptical about the darkness, but it fits!

And if anyone is looking for an awesome exterior caulk/sealant. After this project, I’m completely sold on this Big Stretch. It’s no joke! And it even was available in a pine green which almost matches the paint perfectly.
