Agreed. Keeping my demand simple. Not asking for the moon.

Asking for a human being to keep their word, which they provided in writing.

Good luck Julia. Hopefully they find an exact match. I didn't tell my story of why your post caught my attention. When I was shopping for a Tacoma back in 2013 I found a black trd sport and after dealing with the dealerships internet sales person got an excellent price quote. I told them I would be there in 2 hours to test drive the truck. When I got there I could see the truck was already pulled up front. Then the salesman told me someone came in during those 2 hours, saw the truck, drove it, and wanted to buy it. He said he was trying to steer them towards a different truck but in the end he came back out and said they wanted it. I politely said thanks and goodbye with intentions of going up the road about 20 miles to the other Toyota dealership in my area. The salesman ask me to hold on, that he would get me the exact truck for the same agreed upon price. So I stuck around. I'm not sure if they were having a problem finding an identical truck but shortly he came out and ask if there was any other color I might be interested in. I remembered seeing a spruce mica just before I was ready to buy and how great it looked. I didn't realize at that time how rare spruce micas were. So i told him spruce mica might be nice. They found one at a really small town dealership in Oklahoma. They were able to trade for it and they had it on their lot the very next day. I think it was just meant to be. I couldn't be happier with any other color or truck. After almost 8 years and 38,000 miles I still love my truck as much as the first day I got it.

If they find you a Cement Tacoma with black or grey interior tell them you will take it if they pay to have Red Clazzio leather seat covers installed

I didn't think they grew dates in 29 Palms. All the date groves I saw growing up were in the lower desert Indio, Thermal and La Quinta. I think a lot of them started disappearing in the late 90's to build houses. I know there use to be some in Rancho Mirage and Cathedral City, but I imagine those are gone now

I too had a similar experience in buying my 2019 Taco recently. I went through Carvana as they were willing to give me significantly more for my trade in 09 Corvette than the local Toyota dealers were. I picked out a nice 2019 white 4WD TRD Sport with 9,000 miles on it and submitted my order. I then sent them all the paperwork they required for the trade in, e-signed all the purchase docs, etc. and the deal was done. I even got a confirmation email and text confirming the order. They sent me another text saying they would ping me in a few days to finalize the delivery and then after that I heard nothing.

Getting close to my delivery date and feeling something wasn't right, I decided to call them. The lady pulled up my order number and then she went quiet! After a long pause, she told me that my truck had been sold to someone else and that my order had been cancelled. She said she could not explain why it happened, but it did. Now I am at that point in my life where I just don't let stuff like this bother me; shit happens!

I asked her if we could look for a comparable vehicle and she said certainly. We actually found another 2019, but it was the TRD OR model with only 4700 miles. It also came with the factory Predator bars, factory tonneau cover, bed extender, and a few other OEM accessories that I was going to buy anyway. And the price delta between the Sport they sold out from under me and the OR I ended up with was minimal. There was a delivery charge for the truck that she waived and less than a week later they dropped it off at my door and took away my Vette.

Nothing like whipping out the ol' gender/race card. Soooooo.....lame.

Anyhow, get your refund and walk away from that dealer. That isn't the only truck with those features.

FWIW, dealers are in to make money. They can manipulate the documents regardless of the gender or race. Who knows, the foul up may have been a simple mistake in communication between the salespeople or the posting of the deposit.

Trust me. Any person walking into a dealer is a potential sales or mistake. Females are not an exclusive target group.......

Suggest to get over your discriminatory self-entitlement.

Good news today Julia........biggest plus going for ya, folks above the GM watching.......and the GM knows it.......

now comes the hard part, you have to be a “cool customer”.........what’s does that mean?.....first, keep it professional.....this is just business.....
So the GM will look for your truck in cement and trade for it.........at same time, he will look how much money he has invested in another taco in his inventory with more equipment, just not cement color, and if he can’t get your cement will offer you the upgraded truck.....
As long as he makes this effort, the folks he reports to will be satisfied, and of course apologize to you.

so those might be your choices.....
    Cement w/o red interior
    Upgraded truck in another color
Your deposit back with lots of apologies......

if late Monday, you haven’t heard OR GM asks you for more time........be cool, BUT check in with CEO, just to keep him informed.......your biggest weapon
    .just my opinion
