Actually misting up a bit as I type this.

Yes, she will definitely be with me forever. I'm going to get a tattoo of her paw print on my calf, as soon as I can trust myself not to cry like a bitch while it's being done. (it isn't the tattoo that will make me cry, had those before).

Already looking at Aussie pups. I don't expect them to fill her place, but to make their own place in my heart. Also, our semi-retsrded black Lab needs a buddy to keep him out of trouble.

Edit - back on topic... I need to get my old fat ass on the bike. I miss being able to do 200 mile weeks, it was very meditative. Even though I live in the flatlands, I miss riding. I don't even want to think about riding road with today's drivers like I used to.

Rode the flat or climbing tech today. One I’m still a rookie and two my bike likes to bob on that super slow tech. However gotta get better.

Gave her a detail today and cleaned the entire drivetrain including cranks. Brake bleed next with the new pads. Anyone have recommendations on tools for servicing the BB? It’s a pressfit so it’s the only thing on this bike I haven’t touched. Also, how often should linkage bearings be replaced?

    not enough.
Yeah, I always hook up my lbs with a case of his favorite beers. And I help out at the shop every so often so he's happy to help me out once in a while. I'm pretty sure he's getting more from this setup than I am but I am not one to complain at all

Oh....dude....that's exciting. More gnar in eamo please!

Back in the day my cross country race rig was a titanium Factory GT Xizang. I went from a aluminum frame
to that Xizang and boy was that titanium so plush. I didn't feel beat up after a training ride or race.

Excellent! Way to put in the work man. I should be back out in March, let's go check it out :bikewhoops:

Great lookin Django! That gen Devincis look so good.
Leave the BB in place, if it's not creaking be happy! BBs don't usually get services other than a cleaning and new lube around the bearings and crank spindle. Most BBs have sealed bearings, so you're really just cleaning and keeping things spinning smoothly. If the bearings spin smoothly, leave 'em be.
Linkage bearings only need replacement if they start feeling grungy and don't spin smoothly anymore. Really depends so much on riding conditions. Regular dusty and muddy rides wreck bearings pretty quickly (once a year). Best to just pop off the linkage and move them around, it's pretty obvious if they need to be replaced. My experience with Devinci has been every 1.5K or so riding in CO and UT.

Yea Dave Weagle is the mind behind a number of platforms out there. Pivot, Ibis, Evil, and Devinci all use his designs. I’m sure there are others too.

Haha. I watched classifieds for almost 2 years. Literally the day I’d decided I was going to just order a new one, this one popped up on Craigslist. As much as I wanted Windoors and wasn’t a fan of the black trim, I couldn’t pass up the price. 8hr round trip later it was mine. Still wish it had Windoors but the black has grown on me.

I wonder how well they were, I know they went out of business. I have a feeling that was more related to cost though.

I think their insane cost is what did them in, based on the extensive use of carbon. The look of the thing killed a lot ofninterest too.

But I demoed one locally for a rip around a short course and it was a really unique feel. Def an innovative product, but had a lot of inherent factors going against it.

Alright the time has come to make final plans for the trip. I’ve gotten my email saying it’s ready and they wanted me there this weekend. I was like no bueno. However I need to call and see about a few other things first I guess. I requested the 29th or 30th for training and tour, etc...

Anyways time to get everything right and pack. Excited and nervous.

@honda50r @Bannerman @SummitBound you guys wanna help plan on where you’d like to go and what days. Again it’s about same distance no matter what way I go rather just spend all days in Asheville or go back through Knoxville for 1 or 2 days. Knoxville is easier to plan a weekend for from Birmingham though being 4 hours vs 5-1/2 for Asheville.

btw I’m debating on leaving Wednesday after work headed somewhere or Thursday. Just looking for opinions and when I may or may not have to ride alone. I imagine going to a park I won’t be alone either way, and since we don’t have parks I’d like to experience that.

Trying to make sure I’m reading correctly - which dates are you planning just so I can make sure it works on my end?
