I dunno, I have the HF Earthquake XT 1/2" stubby air impact and that little thing is badass! It even took off the stubborn axle nut on my old second gen. Perfect for home garage use IMO. Possibly in shop use with limitations.

About the bathroom painting; I told the wife don't forget the doors and trim...she says they're already white, i don't need to paint them....me says...you'll be sorry, that's just a primer. She painted the doors but not trim. Trim at floor beneath shower got wet and swelled right off the wall.

"Smoke wrench" is where it's at. Like Franks, I use that shit on everything.

The other day a co-worker was having a Hell of a time getting the inner race of a bearing off a roller shaft. Musta been working on it for over half an hour. I casually walked up.

"Hey man, would you like a hand with that?"

"Dude, please. This thing's kicking my ass"

I promptly get the torch out

    "WTF are you doing man?!"

    "Watch this!"

I proceed to cut the race in two pieces and not a mark on the shaft. Coworker looked at me like I was a wizard or something

Unfortunately now my new nickname is Adam the shaft splitter...

Old out, one cap not a trace of bearings left in it. Now for the help; I believe it will be easier going back together. I did use a small amount of heat in the beginning just to draw some juice in there. I had to go back and forth with c-press in vise then vise on cap to get them out. It tried to kick my butt..20210117_131608.jpg

It's a very handy tool in the shop, don't know why everybody is afraid of it. I'm pretty famous for being able to use it now. Now if we can convince the boss to get some bigger wire for our 480V Miller welder. Some reason we're using .030 wire in that thing, I've tried to order .045 but got shot down. I keep telling them it'll actually weld better, but nobody listens to me. I'll usually just plug in the stick stinger in instead if I'm doing something heavy. We have a battery operated stick welder to use upstairs, it works ok for something light and quick, but I'd rather grab the Miller we have staged on wheels up there. I mean there's 480V plugs everywhere... That and the guys all act surprised when a weld on something heavier fails using the portable. Heaven forbid you have to roll that heavy thing somewhere...
