You got on the train late but you'll have it installed and be happily boosting around town before me

I’ve been keeping an eye as a bystander on this thread since it started as a concept. Feel bad for mziggy as any knowledgeable installer of aftermarket parts Should have had him up and running quite a while back. Sure hope the install bill isn’t rising daily!

Currently, my bill has raised by a bit over $700, including 4 hours of labor fee waived which I would estimate is probably in the ballpark of $500 worth.

It’s cute how shy like the other 12 owners have nothing to say. So far it’s just been dr Frankenstein who decided to over juice the monster, the guy getting fuk over by the shop, and two other guys that mentioned a few things a while back.

Definitely make me wonder. Did the kit come with an NDA?

Lookin like Maggy is the way to go for FI on the 2gr

    So far, no glowing reviews

Ain’t no one got time to mess with Maggy and her giant pulley. The ones whom lead the way have always had a set of ball-bearing turbos.

    Does whom make sense there?

Time will tell :notsure:, I've definitely readjusted my aim personally. I don't know if Maggy calls for a hammer in their directions

Passenger side muffler bearing is on. Inching along on the progress.

Work has been keeping me out of town so far non stop. Try to get a little done every time I’m home.

No there is no NDA or anything. I think the other guys just haven't installed yet.

And actually some people don't want to post here.

If you want to buy a magnuson SC, do it. I think some of you guys who troll around on posts actually have no experience with twin turbo kits on cars. I tried to make this kit as fit-like-stock as possible without chopping, cutting, etc.
But you want to see the reality of TT kits formany cars just Google what you have to do to a corvette, Camaro, etc for TT kits out there. (Unless it's some rear mount crap).

This isn't comparable to a magnuson, and was never meant to be comparable to a magnuson. Not to mention we went from design to hardware in 3 months. Some tweaks, adjustments, etc is expected ( on my part).

Seriously if your goal is to troll or be negative just go elsewhere. It's exactly why some people don't want to post.

The fact is the kit can only IMPROVE from this point, not get worse. Yes this initial release has been bumpy, as I expected it will go, and the instructions and process will be revised.

Keep up the good work OV. I don’t see any other companies trying to squeeze two turbos under the hood of our trucks, let alone develop a kit.

I’m happy I could be a part of this.

No hammer required. It took me 9 hrs to install the magnuson kit in my driveway (my race cars get the garage).
The turbos are cheaper and make more power (stock), but the magnuson kit is cheaper in the end because it’s much easier to install and nothing extra is needed. The hardest part of installing the magnuson kit was getting the stock hoses off lol.

However, you guys have access to tuning and someone to look over logs. That’s worth a lot. I’d love to go to a smaller pulley, but I’d have to start from a scratch tune and there are no dyno shops in Oklahoma that know anything about a 3rd gen Taco or OVTune to my knowledge. So to that end, turbos would be nice!

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the Mag will have nothing on these kits... just a few bumps on initial release.

@OVTune question, I regularly tow a 2700# trailer (SXS) and a 3600# trailer (camper). Is there any issue towing on 7 pounds of boost with the big boys? Should I snag 4psi springs from you and run a boost controller? I take both these over a steep mountain pass several times a year as well.

Shouldn't have any issues except bad mpg.

However, if you expect that you'll be towing up mountains AND expect you'll be towing in boost for long periods of time (let's say 2-3 mins of non stop in boost acceleration) you should consider an upgraded in tank pump.

The stock pump has a 2 fold problem.
    1. Initial bursts of huge fuel demand, and long duration of high fuel demand.

So when the stock pump needs a huge burst (say to support high boost) it can't hold pressure.
But at the same time when you need high pressure with constant high volume over time it also starts to fail to maintain pressure.

Short runs, and lower demand it can handle.
This isn't so much a problem of the pump itself as it is a problem of the 3 stage energization of the controller.

I know on the stock truck, going through the Colorado mountains when I was testing a few years ago, the truck would scream at the top of 3rd just to maintain speed. You'll likely be towing in 4th or 5th. The tune is modified so that in this range where you'll be producing a lot more torque at low rpm it runs with a bit more fuel, to keep the temps down. So you'd actually do better to keep the RPM lower and boost up with towing.
However, under no circumstances should it be gearlocked and just flat out floored it in 5th / 6th with towing.
If you do a LOT of towing, and it's a lot of weight, definitely let us know se we can make some additional Towing modifications to your tune for the ECT button.

Finally, with this recall expanding to 2017s and older on these fuel pumps, we may require fuel pump with any kit in the future. It's just not worth risking.

Does the tune take into consideration of the upgraded pump/controller?

The tune is modified depending if you have our upgraded pump or not

Both Toyota's and the NHTSA recall lookups do not include my vin in any recalls :notsure:

@OVTune for kits already out in the wild, if you end up requiring the pump upgrade will there be any possibility of a bit of a price cut for the existing owners? Just in case you end up modifying warranty requirements to include having the pump upgrade

Is the pump upgrade anything that just the base turbos at 7psi would even need/benefit from? I have no intentions of going higher in boost. I currently don't ever tow anything, although I would eventually like to get a HikerTrailer for camping...
