Hey, I'm thinking of going to BHM on Saturday. It's about a 2.5 hour drive for us. Weather might kill that plan, but LMK if you're interested. (You don't need a login to view.)

Someone popped out behind me on River Rd. North of Lake Luzerne, near Buttermilk and the Bear Slides. Looked like a Spruce Mica, out exploring trails in the snow maybe? Anyone on here? I had just finished a ski from there towards Warrensburgh.7F962862-D206-4ABA-B835-16DA35BE9109.jpg069CD28C-3D60-44A8-884D-0A0F625255AE.jpg

Yes I was up at the slides on Saturday. Were you cutting through the grass field on our way out?

Yeah I just can't normally do Sundays. Maybe in the summer I'll be able to join some of those Southern VT group rides.

A great place to camp for free and not too far from the capital region. Tubing both the Hudson and the Sacandaga are great ways to spend the day in the summer. Check out the ponds off of Rt 60 for fishing and Garnet Lake just to the north. I may be up there next weekend depending on the weather.

I'm down near Scottsville. Don't get out much lately. I don't think I've been on any trips with this group since the first one.

Sorry, forgot to update this thread! The trip was amazing.
Skied at Vail, Park City, the Canyons and Snow Basin. Camped outside Moab, went into Arches. Oh.... and popped the question under delicate arch... She said yes! Here is a smattering of photos.

Snow basin, prob some of the gnarliest in-bounds terrain I’ve seen since I lived in Montana. Would love to get there again and get up that ridge line.

Decided to give BHM a try. It was pretty good. Spent a few hours there covering most of the easy trails. Snow wasn't much of a problem. There were a few inches on the ground, but I wasn't the first person through, so no "surprise" rocks or anything. It was pretty rutted out, and there were a couple of tight squeezes. But generally everything went well. Jeeps were there in force. I didn't even look at the harder trails, and we all stayed off the obstacle course for the most part since it was slippery. I'll definitely go back.

    bhm.jpg

Well that'll make it easy to convoy when our schedules actually line up!

Chess and I hit Dorset caves by Manchester VT with the S VT Offroad Assoc. The trail was slick as a ducks ass. With 6-8” of fresh snow on top of ice. The caves looked like they would be really cool to crawl through when they aren’t coated in ice.
