So, I joined the skinny tire mafia this week; BFG KO2 @ 235/85-16.
I wanted a 32” tire but didn’t like the wide look of the 265/75’s and was hoping to shave a few pounds at the same time! I love the old school Marty McFly looks!
MPG has dropped to 20.4 on the onboard computer. I just filled up the tank yesterday and will do the math next week to see some more accurate numbers.
They’re E load rated, so the ride is noticeably stiffer, and I am running them around 40psi... so there’s that.
All in all, they turned out to be just what I wanted!

what’s the overall diameter of those tires? I like the way those look, but i want to make sure im not losing diameter width in order to go skinny

Alright guys. I’ve been lurking this forum for over 6 months and finally pulled the trigger on some skinnies so thought it’s time to contribute: Maxxis Bighorn MT762 255/85R16, swapped from my KO2 265/75R16s. Bilstein /OME/ AAL 2” lift, only slight rubbing at full lock over bumps.

    This and that...
Or 245's on a 8.5 - 9 inch wheel. My tires accept 8in at the maximum width. Most aftermarket wheels are in the 8.5 to 9in size. Say no so that I don't go spending more money.

    2" lift up front & 1" rear
This post is what I ended up doing for tires and a lift after reading a lot of peoples posts here and looking at a lot of photos, all the information was very helpful. I hope my comments are helpful for others looking to do a minor lift and tires. I do not take my truck off road, I am old and have been there and done that, way to expensive to beat on.
My biggest concern was ride quality, my 2005 Tacoma had a 3" Ranco lift and rode like a bucking bronco. The setup I installed below gave the "same" ride quality as stock, just what I wanted! Headstrong will not tell you exactly what the end lift height will be because there are variables, my front Blistein's came with the clip on the lowest compression setting and that gave the truck the 2" up front I was looking for, with a great ride. The rear 1" block, yes that gives you 1".
    This 2020 TRD Sport:
*Tires are BFG KO2 all terrain Lt 255/75/R17 load range C on factory 4 Runner wheels.
    * I ordered my lift from Headstrong Off Road 951.484.3081
*Old Man Emu Lift Coils 2887 (I have seen them listed as 887 also)
    *Blistein 5100 adjustable front struts
*Max track lift blocks & U bolt kit = 1” block
*Also 1/4” Top Plate spacer (this is for the drivers side (Tacoma lean) the battery and fuel tank are on the drivers side so this spacer for the strut makes it so the truck sits level.
*When I ordered the items I spoke with Elissa and I ended up having them put the coils on the shock and install all new bushings, this way they came built and ready to install

Anyone run 255x80x17's on 4runner sr5 wheels? Got the wheels from a buddy and wondering what complications may arise. Just bought the truck with a revtek 1.5" spacer in the front. Gonna put some jba uca's on and some coilovers, wondering if I can fit the tires before I do that though. Thanks!

Thanks! It's the wheel offset. The SCS SR8s make the wheel pop out of the fender.

I just got some SR8s,,, looking for tires.. trying to see how different 255s fit on the 8.5. I like the 255 for being taller, while being light. 285s are just too much. Trying to stay in a standard load as well. Im looking real hard at 255/75/17s, but there arent many options.

Anyone with a stock 2nd gen running tall skinnies? How tall & skinny can you go before needing a lift
