Did some snow wheeling Saturday with the RL4WD crew up around Rhinelander. We’re starting a new chapter for the area and had a quick lunch and meeting and spent 4 hours in the woods.
I was the only Yada in the bunch but we all had fun and it’s open to all Road legal rigs. Be nice to get more Toyota’s become a part of this. They are doing big things at the state level expanding and getting more access to trails. These pictures are tame. At one point we might have had one of the Jeeps in one tire. LOL

That looks like a blast! You should let us know when they plan another outing.

We’re looking at the 30th for a run if we don’t get buried in snow between now and then. I’ll post up where and what time.

Just remember that these are the guys who go on Facebook and publicly chastise people for driving on trails that are open while claiming they're breaking the law. I don't think that's great behavior for folks who consider themselves ambassadors of our hobby.

I’ve never witnessed this personally and have had nothing but a good time. I do know if you want to tear up trails and sling mud and go 100 mph this is not the group for you.
They are into slow speed stuff and can be as technical trails as you want to ride. At a time when outdoor activities are important. It takes a lot of hard work and an excruciating amount of time to gain trails and only takes one ass hat to loose it all.
So yes, they can be protective of what they have achieved. The pipe line is a perfect example of what can be lost due to abuse. Just a heads up also. They will be issuing citations this year in the closed area if caught on it.
I’ll end it with no organization is going to be able to make everyone happy or serve everyone’s interests. But they are working for all of us that like to wheel in WI.

No interest in "tearing trails up" here. And, I'm not sure why you feel the need to warn me about getting cited on closed trails, because I stay on legal trails that are open.

One of their "ambassadors" publicly attacked a few members here accusing us of breaking the law. Then, when someone told him that I had checked with the forest service about any closings, he accused them (and me) of lying.

I'm all for any group that wants to protect and preserve our trails. But, falsely accusing others of illegal activity is not cool in my book.

Didn’t warn you personally, sorry if it sounded that way. It was a open statement to all that use the area. I know nothing of your incident so won’t comment.

I personally don’t care for all the required equipment needed to take part in their activities. But I can put up with it knowing that while other user groups are losing opportunities this organization is gaining.

That's what I hope. I've heard mostly good things about them. I hope this is just one guy. But, I thought I remembered this kind of thing happening before.

What kind of equipment do they require?

I'm sure the guy believed that what he was doing was right and that he was protecting his right to use these trails. That's the problem with belief, you can truly believe wrong shit...

Maybe if he had backed off when he was told that we had checked with the forest service, or apologized when he realized he was wrong, I could let it go. But, he didn't.

That's not to say the whole organization is like that, though. As you said, could be one bad apple.

I tried to copy a link to their check list but it wouldn’t allow it. Or being old I just couldn’t figure it out. But if you go to their website at the top header you will see quick links. Just click on Rig Check list and you can read it first hand.
Recovery gear, safety gear yes. But some of the stuff? These are road legal rigs so should be in decent shape and not Boone dockers.

I’m a premium member but haven’t attended any rides yet. Need tires at the very least to enjoy the trails with them.
