    I finally got the damn pitman arm off the old steering box and had to drill out the bolt on the other side it was so stuck. Also got my power steering lines all back in. The curved hardline on the top of the new one was located on the side of the old box. Now it hits the alternator. Gotta find something else to work.

    Another 45 minutes doing something that needed done but I didn't expect. So many bad grounds on this thing. Just made a new harness so hopefully that won't be a weak point when I go to start it up finally.

    Did some more cleanup before I pulled the starter. Battery is good, starter is bad, probably from the 300 gallons of water and cleaning solutions that I washed over the engine bay since I started. It is under warranty so I'm not worried about it. If they don't warranty it I will just suck it up and buy a new one. I'm the dumb ass that got it all wet.

    Got the new starter warrantied out and installed. Startup didn't go as smoothly as I would have hoped. The cold start fuel injector was stuck open just dumping fuel into the plenum. So much I started hearing gas splash on the concrete coming out of the intake filter! Hope the MAF isn't toast. I'm sure it is. I think the issue is the cold start fuel injector sensor. I got one ordered. I also figured since there was that much fuel pouring into the cylinders I better drain the oil. It smelled of gas so bad. I just can't win here!!

    I have mods
    Might want to make sure the fuel pressure regulator on the driver side front fuel rail is still good. When the diaphragm in that fails, fuel will dump into the air filter box so that is away from potentially hot engine components. At least, that's how it works on the 1st gen Tacoma 3.4L engines. Figure it's probably similar on the 3.0 too.

    I will check that for sure. Thank you. It sure seemed like it was all originating from that cold start fuel injector on the side opposite of the throttle body though and it flooded back down the intake tube. And I no longer have an intake box.

    I figured since I did such a good cleanup of the upper plenum and it was so bad inside, that I would go ahead and remove the lower plenum and do the same. The big pulley in the middle has to come out before the lower plenum can. Still looks good in there from the mod day! I'm also so glad I took the time to clean up the nastiness while I was replacing the fuel injectors.
