Looking at the Anytime camera system. The website says one version does not work with 2020 models with 360 degree camera. There is also a version for 2020+ models. That version is about $30 higher. Apparently the higher cost version includes an upgraded camera. My 2020 does not have the 360 degree option. Is there something in the 2020 models that is different from the earlier ones? Maybe the camera accounts for the price difference?

In another thread someone complained about Anytime's customer service. Anyone else had problems with them?

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Due to COVID many companies aren't providing they kind of customer service we'd like. It's just a fact of life these days. I'm not specifically defending them, it's just the way things are.

I'd imagine 90% of problems are customer created but yeah everyone's working from home and customer service is way different when nobody else in the "office" can hear you.

I believe on the 2020+ years the harness is different, so they have a specific kit for that. I can confirm the 2020 kit works for both 2020 and 2021. And yes, the upgraded kit is only different in a sense of having the upgraded camera. The upgraded camera gives you the option to clip the camera top to bottom, side to side, and removing the guidelines. The non upgraded only allows you to flip side to side and remove the guidelines.

Customer service is nonexistent. I ordered the wrong camera for my 2016. Sent the unit back and never heard anything back. They got my returned unit and my money. Buyers beware.

I have had good luck with them, I recently wanted to add buttons for each camera individually and I emailed and asked about wiring and they replied right away with how to wire it.

Same here. Always had good customer service. Both times I emailed them with questions they got back to me within a day or two.

None the less, my comments above is completely accurate and explain the difference in the kits.

Heres the reply I got about the switches, I'm using Air On Board switches, they just match so much better than the ch4x4 ones so that what the directions are for

"On my harness the red is a 12v supply so should go to the reds on the AOB switches. You will then connect the green to green for the front switch and orange to green for the rear switch. In this configuration you will need to press the rear switch to see rear and rear AND front to see front. TO make it so you press rear for rear and front for front you will need to connect the two green wires with a diode. Gray line on the diode should be on the rear switch side"

I used the AnytimeBackupCamera one for a 2020 and had no issues installing or communicating with the owner. Even emailed him a question and got a rapid response...

There is a very large thread in the audio&video subforum with good posts & info, you just have to be careful because some of the earlier posts do not apply to 2020 + models. I recommend starting at the end of the posts and work your way back to get the most updated info and filter our the irrelevant.

If you have a TRD get the one without a camera and get a box Nakita or another camera that doesn’t require drilling holes if you don’t want to drill holes in your grill. We have the mounting points in our grill where you can mount the camera with two screws you can buy from Toyota. You can either bend some aluminum or I can 3D print you a bracket.

Yeah mine doesn’t fit that style of camera. So you are good. You need to get the back mount camera.

I used the natika camera, mounted in front on the tss sensor garnish on my pro grill. Worked like a charm, nice and clear, all plug and play with the car solutions modular makes it simple to use with the mode button and arrow keys on the steering wheel.

I really like that mount from the Tacogarage. The only issue I had with mine was the screws they sent with the bracket were way too small for the existing holes in the grille, so I went and got some appropriate sized screws from my big bucket of random screws. Not sure why they sent the screws that they did.36B77A4D-FFE1-4E2C-8776-1C6AFEA00721.jpg

good to know, thanks! i've been debating between the anytime front camera setup or the car solutions camera setup.

where did you install the camera controller box? the reason i ask is i've seen some people put it behind their headunit where it's not easily accessible and according to car solutions website the box has a mini usb port for downloading updates to it. so just curious if i went the car solutions route where a good spot to mount the box would be for easy access.
