This guy was such a wild little kitten. I used to get him wound up and he would fly through the air like super cat on the attack, spring boarding off of ottoman. Hes mellowed a bunch.

 

I want to know the secret of keeping a couch in pristine condition? We have several cat post for them and they must just know when were not looking. The wife wants a new couch, but ask why? Lol

Same boat here. All 3 of our cats get caught daily clawing on the couch and the wife wants to get a new leather one. I’m just like “why bother”??!

 

Somewhere along the way you let them do it. My two would never dare claw furniture. The don’t climb on furniture They have scratching posts and cat trees.

Before I retired they had the run of the house all day but now that dad is home they get in trouble more than they used to. Our cats are spoiled rotten and have had every tree/ post imaginable. They use them a lot but there’s just st a weird time of the day when they just go crazy and start chasing each other around the house and eventually one of them ends up on the couch “yanking”.

Thanks. The wife has tried to keep them from tearing stuff up but they don't seem to learn very well. I figure the few things they tear up can be replaced or repaired. I love the little critters so am easy going about it.

Oh, it was quickly eaten (along with a couple of others) after the photo was taken. I love cookies right out of the oven.

There are ways to train cats. But most folks don’t have the patients. A simple spray bottle works wonders and causes no harm. But you have to be consistent

Oh, and if you get one that is thinks sticking his face in the shower is fun the spray bottle becomes a treat. But that one was smart and never scratched furniture.
