Most of it seems reasonable. But, WTF is a spark arrestor? And how do you put one in your muffler?

Also, their alcohol policy seems a little strict. I wouldn't want to try wheeling drunk, but I tend to have one or 2 throughout the course of the day. I can live without it, but it sure is nice to have a cold one and stretch out the legs occasionally.

Yeah, aside from a first aid kit and fire extinguisher, it looks like having a fully operational vehicle qualifies for that list.

Not sure if this is a paid club, but if it is no thanks. I’d rather just wheel on my own or at least with some of the members on here. Also, I enjoy a road soda or two while wheeling, of course not while driving.

Although, it would be smart to keep an extinguisher in my truck. Duly noted.

I have an old Halon one, I wonder if that would work.

What exactly is the distinction between wheeling and driving as far as drinking goes?
    Asking for a friend.

I’m guessing they had an altercation once and now are just covering their ass.

Those guys are true ninjas, if they had an altercation, one or both of them would no longer be with us!

Hmmm, I think that we somehow got our threads crossed.

Or maybe they know drinking and driving is not legal in Wisconsin and choose to follow the law

    Maybe

Things have changed so much since I was young. While it's always been illegal to drink an drive in WI, in the past, it was basically winked at as everyone did it.
I was 18 and had a buddy, 17 and 2 girls, 16 in my car, all of us with full plastic beer cups in hand. I was trying to keep up with another friend on the way to another party, doing 55 on a residential street.
I was pulled over, cop comes to my window, asks why I was driving so fast, so I slurred out, "I was trying to follow my friend to the next party!".
He tells me "Well slow down". Then gets back in his car and leaves.

This is a paid membership. All the money goes to maintaining trains and obtaining new trails. I have set them up with a new location just outside of Fredonia and that should hopefully open up this year. Slow speed trails. A lot of the trails they obtain you have to be a member to access. In an area where trails are far and few, there is a benefit to being a member.

Wheeling solo is a great way to get into situations. Bring a friend (with a second vehicle)

    Don't.

Agreed. That's on my list as well

It needs to be good for gas and electrical fires.

Maybe. But, there's a difference between having a beer or 2 during the course of the day and driving around drunk.

Some people can make that distinction, and some can't. I know I wouldn't want to be on the trails (or anywhere really) with people driving drunk.

I go solo all the time. I think a little judgement goes a long way in keeping yourself out of those situations.

But, I agree that having a second vehicle along (or more) is the smartest plan. I don't always plan ahead, so I end up going alone and generally avoid things that might get me in trouble.

When I get more recovery gear and learn how to use it, I'll be more likely to strike out on my own too. Right now I have a good start, but not really enough to get myself unstuck if I get in a bad situation. Until I get a hi-lift and/or winch, I have to be prudent. :spending:

I understand your point, but no, open intox is illegal in Wisconsin. Responsible motor vehicle club organizations would have a no tolerance policy for liability reasons and to promote social responsibility

Agreed. But again, I'm not talking about drinking while driving.

I guess I'm too old to be into that whole "social responsibility" shaming drivel.
I prefer to just use common sense.
    Cheers!
