A few mods here and there and counting....
You could order custom length extrusion bars(same as Prinsu) and bolt them up the rack with new mounting holes.

Hey everyone, posting up my canadian experience for any canadians who are looking to buy.

It was harder to find for a decent price in Canada, it was $689 on Amazon and then jumped to $715 for awhile. Suddenly it dropped to $389 while I was looking at other things, but I jumped on the deal.

It shipped the night I ordered it and received it two days later.

Black hardwear, all perfectly powder coated, no numbers on the side. I was missing one single washer but knowing me I probably dropped it somewhere.

Built it on the floor to make sure I have everything (not putting it on the truck til spring) and weighed the rack out to 58lbs without lights + 5lbs for the four lights.

I was pleasantly surprised by the brightness of the lights but they didn't feel overly high quality, I don't really have a use for them anyhow (picture below doesn't do it justice).

Looks like the Pod light ain't all too bad, judging by the distance, it lights up 40 feet out without issues so those would be nice to have as ditch lights or overhead rear canopy/ bed lights. or to blind the drivers that decide to flicker their high beams off and on "BeCaUsE yOuR gOiNg ToO sLoW", just slap that switch right on your dashboard and blind the fucker for a minute and a half. Best case scenario; they go blind and trade up their big ass SUV for a seeing eye dog. They can take the bus for all i care. Pricks...

I think that picture was about 30ft out, but the light was half pointing at the ground. Could probably light up 75-100 ft or so. I did briefly consider mounting them to the back of the rack as reverse lights....would help for tailgaters now that you mention it.

i've used my rear facing pods a few times to signal to other pickups with lights facing backwards that they forgot to turn them off or they are running a full fledge forward lightbar in the middle of the day and are blinding myself as well as on-coming traffic. i used the 40" once in spite to one moron who cut me off in a double yellow at the apex of a blind turn...

anyways, Look forward to seeing the rack installed on the roof come the spring

That’s nice, how bad is the wind noise at 70+ compared to the fairing?

Yes. They can be put as ditch lights.

However, if you aim yours in reverse as mentioned, why use these? They're big and bulky. That's typical of ditch lights.
    But anywhere else?
You'd be further reducing aerodynamics and adding wind noise.
They make slim profile LED lights that seem better suited for that, like putting along the sides of the roof rack. I don't know how bright those are,
but with the big U-box light, who knows how well it would hold up against wind at speed pushing it.

    like this

then again, maybe holes could be cut in the sides to mount big lights inside, aimed down like this:

Need i remind you people that we drive a TOYOTA TACOMA? we have the Aerodynamics of a Jeep, and their own aerodynamics is hardly better than a brick.
Our trucks LITTERALLY get pushed around by any cross winds like a leaf
you are also putting on a roof rack, that disturbs so much air up top, you might as well have a parasail up there!
if you want aero, go get yourself an Audi RS7 or if you still want a truck, look into getting a Honda ridgeline

we drive trucks my dude, use whatever you want wherever you want, we don't buy them for being "aerodynamic", but for their capability. sure the wind noise can be bothersome at times, but you tune that out after a few weeks or that just means getting your hands on some sound deadener for a new project.

If you're scared if the pod lights will bend back, but you have larger problems than wind. take your old ratchet set, wrenches, and any tools you have and toss them right out the window and get something decent. if you can't tighten a bolt down that prevents the pod light from tilting back, re-evaluate the situation and ask for someone to wrench that thing into place. or add Loctite and some washers
    :D

I wasn't asking if you could use the pod lights as a ditch lights, i was telling him to use pod lights as ditch lights

Hey everyone I’m new to the group and I see that this is the Hooke Roof Rack thread and wanted to ask what brackets to use the if I want to install an awning to the rack? Someone gave me the the awning with no brackets and it’s not a name brand so I can’t find specific info on brackets.

Not an awning user (yet) but I think you just need some L brackets from the hardware store, you might need to drill holes into the cross bars as well. See the following posts:

I am researching the t-slot bars to see if I can find something compatible with the Hooke rack. It will eliminate the drilling that is necessary to attach the awning. I was actually able to attach my awning to the rack utilizing a few of the holes on the side of the racks.

I'm looking at replacing the cross rails with T-Slot rails from McMaster-Carr

Hey everyone, professional troll here, hardly post but get all my ideas from here... I've been saving my nickles and dimes but this this is doable... my purpose for this rack would be for my RTT...but how in the world do you bolt it on? any pics? I had the regular crossbars, and of course broke on me with weight issues... please advise.. I saw some pics of RTTS but I just dont see how it bolts on or how I would reach under to tighten those boltsC174E820-86D8-45B9-9F6F-04FC1A8B2692.jpg
