Installed Redline hood struts yesterday.....didn't see a need for a pic, must be hundreds already....:rofl:Only hiccup was my DA putting one of the hood brackets on backwards, luckily only had to drill-out 1 rivet because I caught it before the 2nd. Redline must know me because my kit included 9 rivets....... Great mod, wish they raised the hood higher as it is pretty much in the stock, prop-rod position but I can't imagine why Toyota doesn't put these in all vehicles. My '05 Sequoia has them.

I did the same, but at the time, you only got 8 rivets.

Every time I see a b-pillar w/o the vinyl I like it more and more! That might be around the corner for me as well.
Anyone out there have a Super White with the b-pillar vinyl removed?

At certain times of the year, we keep LED lights on under the carport to keep field mice from trying to store acorns under the hood of my wife and daughter's Hondas.

Interesting idea. Did you experiment with putting some small battery powered ones under the hood to see if they had the same affect?

Or you could an electronic repellent. I’ve been using one for a couple of years now since I had a rodent intrusion. They chewed up the knock sensor harness. Toyota and Honda use soy in the wire sheathing and it attracts them. I haven’t had any issues since installing this repellent.

I may have to give that a shot as well. I spray peppermint oil liberally in the engine compartment as well. Seems to work as long as I do it about once a week.

Bunch of stuff bolted on, some cool, some not
So I got the 20" Baja Designs light bar too and had the same problem. The metal wasn't super thick on that so I just ended up bending them far enough for it to fit.

No, I didn't try that, but I tried all kinds of things. My normal routine is to check the vehicles out once a week. Happened to notice a few acorns on the windshield cowl. Then when I raised the hood, I found more by the air filter housing. It tried snap traps, glue traps, bucket trap with food and could not get anything. I called the exterminator and he brought some black bait boxes with poison. It killed 3 then one of our dogs ate one of the dead ones which cost us another $600 at the vet. After a conversation with the exterminator, he recommended keeping lights on under the carport b/c mice and rats avoid the light. We swapped the bulbs from incandescent to LED and the problem went away. We have been doing this for a couple of years now and no more rodents under the hood of the vehicles.
Note: we have NEVER had problems with mice inside of our home, shop, or pool house. I think they came from the neighbor's jungle of trees.

I'll definitely give it a shot. Don't have a carport or anything similar for lights, but I'll try some small battery powered ones in the engine compartment. I have a small creek and an undeveloped green area next to the driveway that the little bastards come from. We've started parking further up the driveway with the front pointing away from the creek to try and increase the distance. So far so good since last week when I noticed signs of rodents.

I got mine used and it has the TRD Pro vinyl on the back fenders. I'm trying to decide if it's staying or not. There's something about a nice clean truck that just looks nice IMO.

You can get LED rope lights on Amazon cheap and they work wonders. We have them around our fifth wheel and have never had a problem. Something about the LED lights that rodents won’t cross the barrier. It just works!
