    Well said!

    :hattip:

If it was a slight alignment problem, I would have not bothered bending the clip or being too upset. As it was, I was forcing the pillar trim toward the windshield and prying with the bolt including the need to have the handle out of the perches just to get it started. That was insane.

Butter with it bent a long way, with the damage done.

My exchange Handle is in Town at the Post Office, but with the Holiday it’ll be too the door tomorrow. I switched out the foam piece on the new Pillar trim and have it installed. Will hopefully be able to button things up tomorrow.

I did not bend the upper bracket but I had to push the a pillar cover towards the windshield to get the upper bolt started, not a big deal but again I took it apart multiple times because when I tightened the lower bolt there was a gap at the speaker grill and after reading the posts here I thought I did not get it seated in the slots. I am fairly capable being ase and toyota master tech , again gap was not crazy but I am slightly crazy so I added a spacer to make it tight to the grill. Overall I think its a good product, most aftermarket stuff needs tweaking, still not happy about added shipping fees with a receipt that says free shipping

I have the speaker grille gap after tweaking both of the mounting brackets. After initially installing it with only the top bracket tweaked, I took it back off and tweaked both so they are the same angle. I may have been able to "persuade" the trim to accept the bolts without bending the mounting tabs, but I elected to bend them slightly. After bending them, the cover installs very easily and the gaps, with the exception of the speaker grille, are spot-on. The handle tightens very securely.

I will probably use a 3/16" or so spacer to get the trim to match the speaker grille sometime in the future when I have time to cut a nice piece of aluminum. I will use it for the "final" install if it doesn't throw off the other gaps, etc.

I'm curious Bob Murphy for your install without any bending of the mounts, how is your weatherstrip gap and overlap? Mine is near perfect now, but if I space out the bottom mount I think it might take away most, if not all of the overlap there. I would think if you didn't tweak the mounts that your overlap may already be slim?

I wonder what these handles look like after a curtain airbag deployment?

I’d venture a guess that the airbag would function much like the other side. (Handle not involved in bag deployment). I suppose we’ll never know for sure until .... :boom:

We suspect that the bolt covers will fit better.

decided to order some bowl lights from KTJO despite what i had seen in this thread. that was nine days ago and i still have received no indication that my order has shipped or that my order ever will ship. i will give it another two weeks and if i dont hear anything back i am just going to dispute the charge on my card and take my business elsewhere.

Unfortunately, that's pretty much the norm. The good news is that you most likely WILL get them...but don't expect any form of good customer service.

Based on what the OEM pillar cover looked like in covering the airbag and how the KTJO unit covers....no impact...but we’ve covered this before

Same thing here but they showed up in decent time. Installed them in 30 minutes and they're great.
