Broken shift levers as difficult as it may seem for some to believe do happen. I saw my share on our fleet when our heavy duty equipment was mostly manual back in the day. But now not so much. It must be this thing called leverage, for those engineer folks who can't grasp how such a thing could possibly happen lol!

    Cheers!

I was signaling the crane one day and wasn't looking at the operator and kept signaling and then I looked his way and he was standing on the deck holding one of his levers that broke off .

Agree - That bluing, multi faceted grinding, edge tearing only - that is most clearly two sections of round bar, poorly surface welded together it seems.

This is what a classic fatigue failure facture surface in round bar looks like.

Too bad I didn't see this earlier, I have one of those shifter assemblies laying in my toolbox, maybe I should bring it around as a spare o_O

Save your receipts and contact Toyota corporate and request reimbursement. This was a faulty part from manufacturing, a portentously safety hazard, and you can send pictures.

Too many mods and I haven't even started yet..
If that shifter has an actual linkage, he is a Grand Master of clutch work and rev matching. All MT owners should bask in his greatness.

They need to replicate it. .OP have a local machine shop or welder tig weld that for time being. Wait in parts F toyota they'll blame abuse and wiggle out of this.
