If it really is only one fucking pipe or hell, a couple of them, I really may be looking at taking the truck out of there and finishing it at home myself and rebuying from @OVTune whatever I'd need to finish it if necessary

However the whole fucking point of giving it to a shop to install was that I only get 4 days off per month. So I wouldn't even be working on it until likely 2 weeks after getting it back to the house.

Yes, I’ve asked twice prior and a simple answer would be stupendous @OVTune

Honestly man, do it. The kit isn't hard to install and anything is probably going to be better than what they have done so far. Even if you have to end up taking it to someone else to finish it, you will still probably make out better in the end vs letting these douche canoes keep ripping you off.

It really sucks when someone keeps telling you they will deliver over and over but never does. Honesty goes a long way in maintaining your customer base.

You need to go and look at it. NEED TO.

I have heard bad stories. Some have even put liens against their customers' vehicles. Go there!

The bill is currently $700 higher than initially quoted, to include 4 hours of labor waived (roughly $500) for the situation.

Shit zig, it’s been too long at this point. I’m a boob at auto mechanics and had it done in my free time in exactly one month, and that was with a lot of days of “screw it, I don’t want to mess with it today”. I don’t understand what the hold up is at this point. To prove my boobness, I had no idea I could clock the turbos to miss the shock towers until Meso told me, and just last week I asked if I should tap that fuel line for the boost gauge lol. I agree with the above, time to go see. How long have they had it?

    @mZiggy
Be prepared to have a way of towing your vehicle outta there the same day. Eg. AAA or tow service oncall

If not and the truck stays at the shop.... I would be taking careful inventory of what's yours and, hate to say it..... record (video) the cosmetic condition of your truck exterior and interior.

If it’s going somewhere else stay with truck and call around till someone can come and get it within the hour. Stay calm and collected best possible.

Feel for you. I'd have to say that shop should not be certified to even pump gas or clean a windshield. Sorry to hear your good intention has been taken advantage of. Hope in the end this all works out to your satisfaction.

Sorry, I don't usually come through and scroll through the thread, only when I see an email prompt of a reply, which it doesn't give me all of them.
Yours is included in that count. Your kit is done, boxed, ready to go. I am just having a few issues with DHL about it. And they won't let me insure it without crazy duties on your end. They will charge you the full amount of insurance as dutiable.
My concern here is you getting hit with the $900+ in Duty. They just charged one of our customers $150 CAD for a tactrix cable with $120 USD value.

DHL has been very hit and miss. sometimes they take the box no questions. Other times they need long packing lists with values on everything. And also requiring where the product / pieces came from.

I do apologize that you haven't got it yet. Shipping to canada has somehow become a real pain when it never used to be.

I used to work at a shop that took on projects they weren't trained to deal with, and it always ended in the same way. Customer wanted to take their half finished car else-where, etc.

The one thing these shops don't tell you is that when this happens, or when a customer makes that choice and they stop working on it, they will start charging you per day it's there. Even if it's left outside. Just something to be aware of. Try to get the truck out of there the same day you make that choice, if it goes that far.

You can get AAA and use it same day as sign up. Did that when I was dumb in the Army and locked my keys in my car. Still miss that 89' Conquest TSi

Appreciate the response, yes agreed insurance would be a must as it would suck if it got lost with something of this value.
Do what you can in regards to the duties on my end but don’t let it excessively delay you from shipping it out, I’m way too eager to care about a few hundred anymore and plus my wife has lots of money.

Well I'm going to stop by there tomorrow, and I haven't decided on taking the truck out of there yet, it's a consideration though. If they're really that close to finishing, I want it finished then you know?
