I do like both OGD114 and Weller SR, anxious to try poor mans four grain. Tonight's a four roses single barrel night.

I've got a 750ml and 1.75ml of WSR and figure I'll do a small batch of the PM4Grain. If it is better than the parts, I'll make a huge batch. I also have several bottles of Weller A107 and 12. Plan is to make some Poor Mans Pappy. One of these days it's going to be Weller Blending Day!

Gettin fucked up on some front porch batch tonight. It’s like Evans Williams vintage on steroids. Bookers is decent but Evan Williams is the same shit bib. I don’t get the hype. It’s good, but not worth the 80-100 per bottle when bib is 17.99 a bottle. Butttt free is free.

Found this forgotten bottle hiding in the cabinet tonight. The stout flavor comes through, but not too much so. 3B16BBF8-4D66-4859-A142-5619A91C0762.jpg

Yeah, the bottle that I had was pretty subtle on the stout; it just kind of crept in around the edges rather than walking in the front door.

i was honestly really surprised how good it was, heard great things about new riff so I picked up a couple bottles last year.

Carmel vanilla bomb, with some good heat but a little corn heavy due to the young age, but was expected from a new distiller

this juice in a couple years is gonna be really amazing

Some of them come in tubes. ;)

Booker's is already a tough find anymore. I used to pick it up off the shelf whenever I was ready for a refill of that uncut, unfiltered goodness. Now I have my local shop owner hold me a bottle or have my buddies keep an eye out.

The box is nice, but the bourbon is the real gem.

That's quite the collection of Bookers. I'll check what they have when I'm picking up a store pick of 1792 FP. Runs $95 in town.

One or two of every batch from 2015 on, with the exception of 2016-01. I also have multiples of my favorites when I've been able to get a hold of them (4 bottles of 2015-01 and 3 bottles of 2018-01). 2015-01 is, to me, the best bourbon I've ever had. I've had it alongside WLWs, GTSs, Old Forester Birthday Bourbons, and many others and damn if it doesn't hold up as far as I'm concerned.

I do what I can to get 2 bottles of each new release. One is assured a spot for me to drink and share as I please. The second is for a Booker's night that I host where each bottle from the previous year is opened and shared with a group of friends. We nearly kill each bottle with the number of folks that show up. Chat about them, rank/rate them, then go ham on the rest of the liquor cabinet. It's a fun night (I think ).

It's really nice! The older stuff in there (some 16 year old whiskey) really enhances the nose and makes the palate a little more rounded. It's a bit of an outlier in terms of the flavor profile, but so well executed.

That Booker's Rye, though, was my unicorn of unicorns. It'll get cracked when a couple things I have in mind come to fruition, which is hopefully sooner rather than later.

Something different to shock the taste buds. Been prolly 6 months since I last tried it. Air really helped it. Loaded with heat all the way through. Much better this go around though.
