    We're not working on it; I might get to help drive it up from South Carolina when it's done though!

    I have no idea; If we just got it running and street legal without doing the body work, I'd say a month, but it's probably going to get repainted...

    @Taco critter

    I'm still a bit pissed that my truck is averaging in the range of 14 to 17 miles per gallon around town; In the summer, when I've constantly got the A/C cranked, I can understand this. In the winter, it doesn't make sense, especially since my truck is a 4-cylinder!

    The highest mileage I've observed in the last year is 22 MPG on the highway, while driving home from Carlisle last August, and that was the time I accidentally put mid-grade in the truck. Back in like 2012-2013, when the truck was fairly new, I remember getting 28 MPG on the highway.

    I will admit that I have a bit of a lead foot, but am I really spending so much time at idle in local traffic that my truck is getting the fuel economy of a V8? Also, when I divide the number of gallons burned by the number of miles driven between fill-ups, I suspect that it isn't entirely accurate and that my truck is actually getting in the range of 18 to 20 around town.

    As for the return trip from Carlisle last August, I think 22 MPG on the turnpike with the A/C on at speeds generally exceeding 80 MPH is very respectable for a pickup truck. I've come to terms with the fact that it'll never be a Corolla MPG-wise, but less than 17 MPG for a 4-cylinder truck is a bit ridiculous!

    What do you mean winter fuel?

    Also, I ended up alongside a couple of guys in a Ford F550 flatbed tow truck at a red light last week and we got to chatting; The passenger in the tow truck said he had formerly owned the same truck as mine and had really improved his mileage by adding something called a "hydrogen bubbler"...?

    My wife gets migraines from really obnoxious smells like perfumes and soap scents. Our neighbors insist on blowing this horribly "floral" scented dryer sheet/fabric softener into the air almsot 24/7. Super annoying but not migraine inducing.

    Essential oils are OK though (lavender, tea tree, etc). I think because they are natural chemicals, not synthetic and are subtle, not overpowering.

    For travel, she brings a spritzer with vinegar which can help eliminate smells on sheets and pillows.

    Winter fuel and cold temps will drag your mileage down, once it warms up in the Spring you should see an increase again.

    I’ve never been a particularly big fan of oil heat, especially forced air; My boss’s house was built in the 1950s and has oil forced air heat. I’m over at his house right now helping him prep his ‘67 Mustang for shipment to South Carolina for restoration; We got to talking about the heat in his house, and he says he’s not a fan of the Beckett burner because it’s high-maintenance...

    How many people on TW have oil heat, what kind of burner does your boiler/furnace have, and which brand do you prefer?

    Beckett and Riello are the only two brands I know of, and they seem to be the two most popular among all the HVAC manufacturers in America.

    The furnace is just your basic Sears unit, installed about five years ago; The central A/C is a Kenmore (also Sears) installed maybe a decade ago...

    The house did not originally have central air.

    I have the original HB Smith Boiler (1964) with a Beckett Burner in my house. It does both forced hot water heat and hot water. Forced hot water heat is popular here in NE. I have it cleaned and serviced annually and it's still running at 88% efficiency. I like the even heat from forced hot water in my cast iron baseboard heaters. I keep asking if I should upgrade, but my technician repeatedly tells me I'd be foolish as this system is bulletproof and is nearly as good as a newer system....was built to last. I only burn between 650-750 gallons of oil per year (depending on severity of winter.

    So your house has both forced air and hot water?
