Buyer Beware: KTJO 4X4 Driver's Side Grab Handles w/ A Pillars, HUD, and Bowl Lights

I like my for bowl lights too. A subtle but nice change for the interior.

The ship depressurizes, stopped only by Tom Servo, who ends up fitting neatly over the hole and, when a sucking sound ensues, says something like “this is a new feeling...and frankly I LIKE IT.” (Use your imagination.)

Joel them asks Crow what he was thinking. And Crow replies “the thought occurred to me that I was doing something really stupid...........and I did it anyway.”

When your want for little LEDs in the flipper handle recess thing overcomes 3,500 posts of pain. It’s like supporting the South Sea Company because you like the whale meat.

 

Surprisingly, the most time consuming part of my install was trying to get the pillar to seat correctly next to the tweeter cover... oh and having to wet sand the covers to make them fit/look better. It was challenging to get the bolts to line up. I don't think the top ended up bending any (I pulled a bit to get it under the weather stripping, but don't think it was enough to bend the metal).

I'll check eventually because I'll probably end up needing to take it off at some point to get my puddle light tharness situated better. After having the dealership take out my dash for warranty AC work a while back, the map/dome lights flicker some. Thought I fit the harness in better while installing the grab handle, but still have a bit of flickering.

Overall, the part itself isn't too bad, but definitely not OEM quality. I can for sure say that if I hadn't ordered back in July (before the shit show started), I most definitely wouldn't have ordered.

 

At least the easy install made up for the shitty fulfilment, damage, and exchange.

Torquing the fasteners will not bend the clips. That is all done manually. Mainly with just the bolt threaded in a pulling on it in the direction needed.

I installed mine the other night. I used the Dorman M6 clip. My pillar came without the metal bushings installed so I left them loose on the end of the bolt which gave me more wiggle room. You can push them out easy if they are installed. I put the pillar into place (tweeter cover removed) and put the handle (with the bolt in it with the loose bushing) up to the mounting spot and found the clipnut and started it about 4 threads then did the same thing for the top bolt. I turned in both bolts some more making sure to leave enough room to push the bushings in place. All this time my handles are still not recessed in place. I then took a screwdriver and pushed the bushings in place. Tighten the bolt more to the point I knew the bushings weren't going to back out and then pushed the handle into the pillar. The bottom didn't line up and I had to push the handle down a little to get it to recess. Then popped the top in. Check to make sure the bushings were still in place and tightened the bolts. All the gaps look perfect to me. The weather-strip covers the edge of the pillar piece like the OEM piece was. The covers are ok. Lastly the color is slightly off

ho hum yt Grab Handle install video? lol, no problems with the install but that bottom bolt cover didn't seem to fit tightly on.
I'm wondering the date and where its was manufactured?

I actually was going to do the bowl light too, and after reading this thread, and the problems with the light, I can't see any reason to deal with them at all.
