Central air or no? Even newer houses in Maine generally don’t have central A/C...

No Central Air. If I were to build new, I'd probably go with forced hot air central heat/AC using natural gas.

 

My boss’s house was built in the 1950s; He’s owned it since 1976. It did not originally have central air; Boss and his wife say the A/C was installed maybe a decade ago, but I think this unit is older than that...

 

Go with a Beckett. A Riello is nice but a little bit more of a pain to bleed and a little more complicated than a Beckett.

 

Its only hot enough for AC in Maine one week out of the year. lol

 

My grandma has a house in York County and while the house is fine to sleep in at night, I’d say A/C is definitely recommended during the day; Luckily the house is on a lake and we spent most of our time out on the boat fishing!

 

I have a Beckett burner on my Weil Mclain boiler which has been in service since 1999.





As far as requiring alot of maintenance, this one has been great. The nozzle was replaced in 2014ish? and other than that just a couple oil tank filter changes over the years that's it. We had a hydrostat issue a while back, but that's not related to the boiler. If you get fuel from a reputable place, you should have no issue.

 

Forced air is good if you want to bring an are up to temp fast. That's why you often see hot air in garages.

Hooked up the Tacoma to the Mustang and the battery still had some juice...




The radio not only turned on, but the horn worked as well!

 

Used the Escalade to get the Mustang out into the street...

The driver, Cedric, had to use a bottle jack to keep the car on the right track...
