Oh he has something that lets you mount stuff to the side, it just doesn't work for my setup. I need to be able to stand on the rails to setup and tear down the RTT.

I really like the look of the Xtrusion Overland rack. I can not find any pictures of one with a softopper. Definitely watching to see if someone posts some pictures.

@NukedTaco thanks I appreciate it. Not a bad lead time on these either.

Emailed them asking for pics and they said they're working on it, but I got the impression that they're still in prototype mode. I also like the looks & flexibility of that design. They were super nice over email.

Like @NukedTaco posted I also have one on order from Xtrusion-Overland. I will be putting it on my 2020 Tacoma LB. I will post pictures and a review when I receive it and get it installed.

Anyone with the Dissent offroad rack experience Rattles, or developed any cracks in the plastic bed from use?

No rattles yet - I suspect if everything is torqued properly you won't get any.

No cracks either, though I have Total Chaos bed stiffeners.

Do you run a soft topper & RTT? Have you mounted any accessories on it? any notable difference in noise?

I have a behemoth awning, RTT, and a hi-lift on the back. No difference in noise.

awesome setup, does the rack stick out far past the bedsides? do they sell the highlift mount or what did you use?

I think so far there are only a couple racks in the wild. Their instagram page has some pictures on it of some customers racks. Recently they posted some of a test fit on a tacoma.

Doesn't stick out far past the bed at all. Less than an inch. Your fender is still the widest part of the truck bed. And as far as mounting the high lift, I just mounted it to the rear cross member with some bolts and nuts. Not a perfect solution, but works for now.

    first of all....

    Dude...

second. @Proletariat thank you for starting this thread. I was seconds away from doing the exact same, but you've brought all questions to bear in this thread. My needs are a bit different as I'm not planning a RTT, but a clean rack over, in my case, a supertop on a 2nd gen. I like the MobTown also because of the less obtrusive round tube sides, but I'm open to all options at this point. that Xtrusion Overland is nice too. Sh*t, they all are. We are really very lucky with the aftermarket on these trucks.

KB Voodoo/Max Modular topper rack arrived today, very quick shipping. Ordered last thursday, was supposed to be here yesterday, but USPS messed that up. Hoping to get it assembled and on the bed this evening. It's been too cold to deal with the softopper install, but may get that done this weekend.

Lead times on a lot of these were really far out, and from doing some searching around were typically a few weeks to months past what most people are quoted. I wanted the Mobtown rack, but they even stopped taking pre-orders to get caught back up. It's tough with the situation they are in, but I needed something by early spring and didn't want to gamble with whether it would arrive by then or not.

Still adjusting the softopper (install last night in 20 degree weather was a pain to put it mildly). The Max Modular was very easy to assemble and was light enough to move around and install by myself with no issues. Assembly and install were a breeze. Very solid and well made. Still need to tweak the softopper rail, as even with some extra foam, I got some bowing up on the ends. I'll likely put an aluminum plate down between the bedrack mounting feet to help even it out a bit more.

Finished up mounting my Xtrusion Overlnd (https://xtrusion-overland.com/) Softopper Rack and headed out ice fishing.

The rack will make a great base for my RTT this Spring.
