Buyer Beware: KTJO 4X4 Driver's Side Grab Handles w/ A Pillars, HUD, and Bowl Lights

Fuck yeah. All my threads are BS threads. As @Daria suggested, I'm trying to get some notice on the search results and couldn't fit BS in there. A ton of it in here though. Someone open a door.

 

Mailed off my handle back to #KTJOshitshow for a refund. Should get there by the end of the week maybe or early next week. Then the wait begins for her to actually look at it and refuse my refund or try to charge me a 15% restocking fee.

 

I forget. Did you get return authorization or are you just poking and hoping?

 

There's nothing in her policies that states you need to receive an RMA or anything of the sort. Just to email her with your original purchase confirmation and mail it back. So that's what i did. Included a copy of the original order confirmation in the box when I mailed it off also. That's all she mentioned when I finally got a hold of her through FB messenger over the weekend. Couldn't mail off until today due to Fed holiday yesterday.

 

That's close enough to authorization.

We'll see. I'm not terribly optimistic. When I spoke to her on FB messenger she kind of danced around the question of the restocking fee. The whole reason I went warranty return route is because there's no mention of the restocking fee. I shouldn't have to pay a restocking fee because I never attempted to install it and it showed up damaged, discolored, etc, through no fault of my own or USPS. Going by the policies in the "Return" category on her sight there's room for her to tack on the restocking fee however she sees fit.

Yup. And then there's this little bit as well....

All Items must be in Perfect Condition and in their Original Packaging. Any item that shows signs of wear and tear or gets returned with Destroyed Packaging will be documented and either a 30% Restocking Fee will be applied or the item will be denied as a return and sent back to the customer.

So if USPS fucks up the box on the way back I get hit with a restocking fee.

She even wrote my address on the original box with a damn sharpie before sending it. So how can she claim she needs the original packaging to be in perfect condition when she ruined that from the get go?

 

Keep this phrase in your back pocket - "Restock it where exactly? Your garage? You aren't Best Buy. Provide in exact detail what expenses are required to restock when it is already in its original packaging. I need to know for my Paypal dispute."

It wont get you anywhere, but I'm sure we would all be tickled if you said that. Publicly.

 

haha. That's a very good point. Unfortunately for me, I was one of the first like 50 pre-buyers or something. And I paid through her website. Over a year has passed and there isn't any dispute I can file through credit card or anything when it was purchased more than ayear ago.

Speaking of grab handles. My 2020 TRD OR has grab handles for back passengers above the doors on the ceiling.

Do earlier Tacoma trucks not have back passenger grab handles?

2nd & 3rd Gen Tacoma In-Cab 120vAC 400W Anytime Power Outlet thread disappeared today on the day that my parts arrived and I am doing the install. Wondering if all her post's are now gone forever...

I pretty much did the same thing except for leaving the tweeter cover on. After ordering 11/2019 and receiving it like a week ago via parcel select (even though I paid for priority) and hearing all of the stories here, my hopes and expectations were extremely low. Which is why I was kind of shocked to get it install in about 30 min while taking my time and without bending the top bracket. The gaps look good and the finish of the handle is okay (It's not perfect but something I can live with). And I wasn't going to wait another year for a replacement.

I think so too. I honestly did not expect it to go this smoothly at all especially when I saw the angle of the upper bolt when I test fitted the trim piece without the handle. In the end it all worked out. But to call it PnP is pretty ballsy!
