The beadlock ring is the only thing holding that outer bead of the tire to the wheel so you want it perfect. There’s 24 bolts that need to be tightened down as evenly as possible so it’s not lopsided. It’s also grade 8 bolts that thread into aluminum so it would be easy to fuck up the threads if you’re not careful.

I hand thread in all 24, then grab a 1/4” drive ratchet and snug them all up. Once you work your way around the ring, by the time you finish one rotation, the “oldest” one is loose now. Keep in mind too I have to bounce back and forth from one side of the ring to the other between every. Single. Bolt. Rinse and repeat for 15 minutes. Just working your way, round and around, a few turns at a time. Once they’re all snug, then I put a torque wrench on them and do the same thing, setting them to 13 ft lbs. Round and around. Then again to 18. Then again to 23. This ensures it’s as perfectly equal as you can reasonably get.

Then add air to seat the rear bead, let air out and check torque again, going round and around a few more times.

It’s exhausting but only needs to be done once. From here on out I just need to check torque to make sure they’re set which won’t take nearly as long and can be done on the truck.

I agree about the black magic tire paint stuff. If I had some I would have dressed up my tires before mounting them. They look sad.

I can’t remember if I shared the weight here, but the new setup is about 110 lbs per corner vs my old 96 lbs per corner. Granted, I’m ditching my spacers which average 2.5 lbs per corner so a roughly 11-12 lb increase per corner.

I'm sure I could talk our machinists at work into making you a 1 input, 20 output beadlock nut setter. You aren't gonna like what they're gonna bill you though.

They'll build you a 20-24 converter too. Total shouldn't be more than $20G or so

8 more weeks?! Fuck. I’ve been waiting 7 or 8 for my new rear shocks. My current rear shocks are leaking like a son-of-a-bitch. I guess I need to rebuild my old ones in the mean time. Hassle.

Pretty common on canopy tray trucks.
