Definitely a fun project to tackle on. I’m slowly teaching myself to fabricate so I better to practice on my own truck.

We’re ready man, this rain has put quite the damper on things

I feel like the worst bump steer an IFS setup can have is still better than the best steering a solid axle can have

    I feel
Like that kit is an expensive solution to an easy one lol. Trim as needed. Tacoma’s aren’t made for nor do they need 37’s.

You're right, they need 40s...and solid front axles

As for bump steer. The plane which bump steer takes place I don’t believe is affected much. I’m not saying there is no change, but with an appropriate alignment I think the change will be very minimal

In between studying for my cases tomorrow Ive been reading their site and trying to think about the steering on our trucks. If the links on either end of the steering rack are the same length and at the same angle and the front half shafts are the same length and caster is within factory spec (not to mention its better than a lifted taco with stock "subframe") in theory it would have less bump steer/wander/negative driving characteristics than a lifted taco with a (barely decent) post-lift alignment. Especially since you can tune how far forward you push the lower arms, the greater accuracy of their beefier alignment cams and extra-especially if you're running aftermarket upper arms that have adjustability like SPC's.

Finally got the truck back from the dealership today. It's been with them for the better part of the month.

As if the dumb six speed auto didn't have enough issues surrounding it already, mine went through a shift solenoid and had it replaced in December after the CEL and a very concerning shuttering would occur when putting it into reverse in certain situations. It was replaced only to happen again a few weeks ago.

Toyota Engineers got involved and they replaced the transmission's wiring harness as well. To compound things, the new shift solenoid they had ordered to replace the previously replaced one was DOA and they had to wait to find another one.

Hopefully it's all sorted now, but for a hot minute there, I was liking the fuel economy of the hybrid loaner Corolla they gave me.

Soon as I was driving her again, though, I remembered that I liked her plenty so the Taco will stay for now.

Also, what does everyone recommend for batteries? I'm thinking I might be due for a replacement soon.

This is your random Arizona BS advisory of the day.

I have been on a used trailer search for my UTV and have quickly concluded you should NEVER buy a used aluminum trailer.

Holy crap, the dangerous trailers people are towing around and are oblivious about! Cracked welds EVERYWHERE. Every single used aluminum trailer I’ve seen has structural cracks all over.

Next point, used ones are all over priced in the valley and if they aren’t, it’s for many good reasons.
