Actually I think mine is where the shaft goes in. It’s not bad, just trying to figure out how bad it is to rebuild it vs. buying one. I’d rather rebuild it :D

And my pump is starting to whine. 203k, time to do something.

I would bet that a replacement rebuilt unit is the path of least resistance.

Iv rebuilt sienna mini vans and have since now stopped due to mounting bushings to bad and make the van wonder at highways speeds... so I recommend replacements now. Gotta way the options. Due to the rust we deal with here it sometimes pays off in the long run for the replacement

Those are two very valid points. Sometimes I need to throw stuff out and get feedback to make me realize cheaper isn’t always better. Thanks guys!

I’ve done racks for the race cars
It was not cost effective for us to do it in shop.
Plus with high mileage shaft wear etc the chance of failure was
    Not worth it.

All of our overtime has to be approved ahead of time, which never happens anymore. When I first started, I ended up with a whole 3 hours that I completely forgot I had for almost 2 years before I got chewed out for it crossing over fiscal years.

What were you bidding on? Did it involve gun powder?
