I know how this feels, been there, and I was pissed too.

That’s because they aren’t heavy enough for a 3rd gen. This is so common it’s not even funny...had this convo many times this week already. I had the 2888 and they did the same. Most of these coils are spec’d for a 2nd gen because ARB assumed the 2nd and 3rd gen weigh the same (which they don’t). If you get them mounted on the OME shock they are stiffer than a board due to the massive amounts of preload they use to achieve the 2” lift. I went with better shocks and an Eibach 700# 14” coil (will be 650# next rebuild) and the ride is way smoother and hasn’t sagged barely at all (0.5” in 3 years), but they do take about 2000 miles to break in.

650-700# coil for 3rd gens...stock TRD coil is 13” 700#...,so 886 should be a good bet, but at 402mm, that’s almost a 16” coil...which seems oddly long, so it’s really hard to know with that length.

I wonder why headstrong doesn't recommend 886s with 5100s if they are in fact the correct spring rate?

you got me man. Even Accutune recommends 600-700#coils depending on weight, but after trial and error on my side, the data doesn’t lie

I would NEVER go below a 13-14” 650# coil with these trucks. Even the guys at ADS Racing said 650-700# depending on front weight.

who wants to preload the snot out of the shock to make the coil work?...or just get the right coil for the job.

My 887s sagged with ome shocks. Used a headstrong spacer to get it where I want.

Stoke. That's why I upgraded due to excessive dive on Hitachi stock shocks.
    So the answer is no

I'm sorry but Headstrong doesn't know everything. Remember there are 4wf shops that know their stuff. No offense but ome springs have sagged twice on my friends Tacoma.

Its a 1 inch spacer. I didn't want to go with a 2inch spacer or above or move the snap ring up.

Its a 1inch spacer from fat bobs garage https://bit.ly/3o0vJ31
I got it for $30 on offerup

I installed it and now its pretty damn level with the rear. The 1 inch spacer actually made a nice difference. The only annoying part was replacing the stud bolts with longer ones that came in the kit.

    OEM studs w/ no spacer

    Longer studs w/1inch spacer

This is how the truck looks after it was installed. The front used to be noticeably lower.

I thought everyone is against a spacer lift. Why not move up on the clips on the 5100s?

Yeah, I'm wondering this myself. I just installed the OME 886's on my 5100's this past weekend to help with the added weight of this ARB Bumper and winch I installed; so far I honestly think the truck rides amazing. As for ride height, it sits pretty much perfect right now, even after settling a little bit....I sincerely hope these don't end up sagging like people are saying. Oh well, if they do I will just make the jump up to Kings. lol

I'm 500 miles in right now with only 20 miles off road. there's no sag yet, and Im level at 23 inches hub to fender front and rear. Knowing my luck I'll get the sag and have it settle at 22 inches which for me equals to a 1 inch lift.

I bit the bullet and ordered 886s. I didn't want to add spacers or change notches since I don't know if the coils sagged evenly. My truck has major taco lean, like 1.5" in the rear. So I figured I start fresh with new springs in the front and go from there. (I do have a ¼" spacer for the driver front)
    Wish me luck.

    Work in progress...
I had my 6112's assembled on 4th and 5th notch with 650 pound springs. I added 1/4 spacers on top. I get some questions why I used 1/4" spacers instead of going 5th and 6th notch? After going the 5100/887 route, I know it is easier to add a 1/4" to 1/2" spacer here or there, or take it away, than it is to assemble the coil overs. That is what I did and I am so far very happy I went this way.
