do you pronounce it "bay-zos" or "bee-zos" or "beh-zos"

 

Bay-zos

That's how I've always heard it pronounced elsewhere anyway

 

I like flash, makes their soul piercing stare sharper

 

Fill flash

using flash as fill is one of the biggest reasons to use flash, especially in environments where you have zero control over the subject like - photographing a lion that would gladly eat your face if you tried telling it to move into better light

 

That being said it’s nowhere as bright lol. It’s more of a decoration than a usable studio light. If I put a higher water bulb in there it would be usable for photo use.

 

I think that was the idea -- turn something old from storage into a decoration

 

I was thinking more for film/video where you need continuous light (not strobe) and a variety of colors

 

I think my professor was meaning most of the time, generally you won’t be using it. I definitely understand flash’s place in the world though. I never use it.

 

Kind of amazing how far we’ve come. I replaced the bright ass 1,000w halogen bulb that gets hot enough during operation to cook breakfast on the casing with an 8.8w one.

 

I looked at a home with a detached 2.5 bay garage. It had old aircraft landing lights and they were hot enough to passively heat it during winter

 

Yeah I may have projected a little bit in my response lol. Photojournalism and studio photography are two very different worlds
