Finished! Took it around the block for a rip and its so much fun! Its like a big DJ bike. Tossed it back on the stand for a quick bash guard install.

I made it to mid-Washington last year...just north of Mt. Rainier at Lake Wilderness. I rode quite a few local spots that were really fun... Raging River, Tiger Mountain, Henry's Ridge/Black Diamond (awesome freeride park here). I was right by Duthie Hill MTB Park in Issaquah but never made it over there. I'll definitely make it back to Lake Wilderness area again this year (family there), but hopefully can venture farther north (Bellingham) and make it across the border. Canada probably won't happen, but I'm going to plan it and think about it anyway...

Compared to other parks I've been to, Northstar was great. It could've been the combo of no lines & no people, but I really enjoyed the riding there.

So I took the 5010 for a spin down street and through the backyard and wow, even though it’s size small (5’1”-5’5”) I could set that thing up for me. It could be a really sweet ripper.

However idk how much they’ll improve “bedding” the brakes, but if a cheap set of used RSC come up I may have to snag them. I’ve done grown so used to them.

After having ridden my Following and then Capra back to back, I need a new long travel bike. Gawd...I love and hate this sport. lolol.

I can ride the Capra just fine but man is it heavy, sluggish, and needs a refresh for my riding style. I've got my Following dialed in so well and it's so much easier to pedal.

I had to look up Golden eagle bypass on trailforks...

Great news on the trail conditions! I'll definitely plan to get a ride out there soon, maybe early Friday if the weather holds off.

I too had a capra and it’s not a good pedaling enduro, however my fitness was even lower then. It felt extremely heavy, but all I had was the carbon comp.

HAH! I've got you beat. Got an AL Base. Without any lockouts on the suspension. Thing pedals so shittily. Really worked me out but man it's heavy.

Yeah....I was looking at the wreckoning again. Might be able to get a new frame at a decent enough price. but yeah, I know I'll be waiting on it for a long while. lolol. It's definitely very tempting to put. money down and wait. hah!

Man tiger is wild. One of the few places to make me stop and stare at a feature wondering how people did it.
Duthie was crazy rad too. The progression is real and makes sense why the pnw has such great riders.
    I'm jealous of your ventures

Aside from my obvious bias, it's a great "all-'round" enduro bike. Kinda like an extra-travel trail bike, that somehow morphs into a bigger bike when you have the courage and send shit that scares you.
You know what that pedal platform feels like, which makes it easy to go between the two.
It's not perfect, and I have my beefs with it. The rear triangle gets water in it (drains if you put it upside down, but still), that great pedaling platform also means a skittery back end in the rough and occasional pedal feedback, lots of bearings, on the heavier side, can't run it with an air shock (not that I want to), skinny dropper post diameter limits drop, the shape of the rear triangle+SB=heel rub at times (I have this problem on a lot of bikes though 'cause I ride duck-footed), and I wish the ST was 1* steeper and HA 0.5* slacker.

I want to ride an Evil to compare to the DW link. The DW pedals great, but I think most rigid rear triangle bikes pedal well. At least I’ve saw a lot of recommendations for rigids being great peddlers. Yeti, Santa, Pivot, Ibis, Intense, etc...

Honestly, split-pivot bikes like the '20 Devinic Spartan was one of the best I've had. Active, for sure, but super efficient and crazy grip. The Django pedals amazing, but it's 120mm so that's kinda a given. It's a very similar design to the Trek, though Trek won't admit it since that would mean giving Weagle $$$.
Still, a lot of suspension performance is not so much the design as it's how that design is tuned. Most bike manuf create a platform that can be easily tuned to the ride characteristics they're looking to build into their bikes, so making a platform with a lot of versatility is key.
Shit, even the same bike with a significantly different shock tune can feel completely different. My Spartan felt completely different on a Hazzard coil, and the Wrecker turned into an amplified version of itself with the Push 11.6.

Hell yeah, anthracite Mazza's! I need a 29x2.6 on the front to go with my Agarro rear.

You make valid points. hah! I actually noticed tiny pedal kickback on sunday but I attribute it to the i9 hubs with super high engagement. It wasn't a big concern though. I was being a dummy on a part.

I will agree with you that these bikes tend to be heavy. I mean, my following is around 31 pounds...full carbon everything except the headset spacers! I haven't experienced the heel rub on the SB like I thought I would.

You could get an angled headset for your headtube. cane creek makes one. Although, riding it in x-low and bringing it to like 63 degrees is fairly slack. hah!

I've had 2 DW bikes and now an evil calling. I'll say they all feel kinda bottomless and supple but I definitely notice more braking feedback from the evil

I think the black trim is critical for a topper to look right on the Quicksand Taco. Too much of a solid wall of QS without it IMO.
