If you can be a little patient, focus on paying off your smallest debt first then take that monthly payment and apply it on top of what you’re already paying on your next smallest debt. Repeat until debt free. It’s called the snowball method and it works! We were able to get debt free way faster than I imagined possible. We were just left with the house payment which we have now refinanced. If only I didn’t have a kid in college and one starting college in August. Even then, they are both working and have some savings so if we play it smart they can both graduate debt free. We will see.

I've tried snowballing debt payments.

That's why I'm at about $26k debt instead of $58k debt.

Some of what you can do is look at the ones with the highest interest rate and start putting extra into those so that you can pay down the high interest loads.

 

That's my goal this time around. Ramsey says it's a better method than snowballing (i keep thinking of the sexual snowballing lol).

I used snowballing to pay off an $8k credit card, $1.5k credit card, $750 store card and lucked into a lump sum to pay off my $21k truck.

Eta: I paid off the 29.99% interest card and only use it for gas and pay it off each month.

Very nice, ya the use and pay off every month method helps boost your credit rating. That's what I'm doing right now to get mine back to where I need it to be.
