You can make off roading as fun and challenging as you yourself make it out to be. From open trails to snow mobile & ATV trails and to gravel roads all the way up to whatever Ardbeg and Greens are considered. the harder the trail becomes, the more of a risk you take to damage and scratches and that's the point i was trying to get at.

The photos i posted was a stock truck on stock rims with factory tires. Meaning your truck is just as capable but i thought about the risk of damages and fealt it was an acceptable risk. Those were the last photos before i lost my front chin bumper thing later that day...

To add; Ganaraska is a Regionally maintained trail system (Since it is a Conservation park) meant for on-foot traffic, cyclists, horse back riders, ATVers, motocross, and Us (offroad trucks, jeeps, etc) so the chance of scratching up paint is considerably low as trees are clipped and cleared if they are knocked over by storms or the passing of seasons.

Places like Ardbeg however are maintained by the community and locals but is not always maintained to the same level of Ganaraska. if a tree falls over, it will be pushed to the side which might pinch the trail to be a tighter fit, at best it will be cut up into smaller manageable logs and taken to the nearest camp fire.

At best, i wash it twice a month in the summer and winter (every other week to get the salt stains off the sides) and right after any trailing. Wax it about twice a year (late spring and mid fall).

    ummm .....ya.
I do wash it after being on the trails as well and also when the salt gets out of control...have they used any this winter yet?
No wax. That's for the Benz and the 65.

There quite a few road allowances in that area that would be good for a winter run. Excluding any that would be used as snowmobile trails.

    Lol I’ll let you know!
I’m excited. @Norilsk sold me on them.
so by passenger drop you are referring to how the front driveshaft will be coming out? Any reason? Just curious.

Believe most Toyota’s are driver drop. Only a handful of jeeps and most Chevy one tons I believe are passenger drop (if I’m thinking of this correctly)

in terms of passenger drop that would bolt up it may be the best bang for the buck going to an atlas of your dead set on passenger drop. Atlas t case will make you anything. Issue is they are massive and the floor will need to be massaged big time to make it fit.

the fj case can handle up to 40’s and bolts right up as an FYI ;)

I agree 100%. Things will happen even if you are trying to be careful. I stopped worrying about pin stripping and now the more I have the better I feel. Does wonders for the soul.

Ah gotcha. May be easier to get a driver drop front axle. Such a pain though as I could imagine.

I hear ya. It is super pricey. I’m planing on taking 5 years to just build the axles and figure out the direction. Worst case I can always throw the axles under something more feasible/worth it. Just looking forward to learning about these axles and this whole world.

just at the point right now where the driveline clearly can’t hang (my error or driveline...). Just looking to have something more durable.

But wait.....you have the runner still? Why not just have two? Taco for chill trail runs, and the 4 runner for fun?
