I'll be driving to Oregon soon, thinking about fucking around in Shasta on the way up or down. Soon after I want to roam around the lost coast before barging down to Big Sur. Any fuckery I should be aware of? Anyone heading in these directions?

Anyone know the conditions out at Gold Lake?
I've never been but assuming the gold lake road would be pretty easy going. Are there open tracks off it after Jan 1st or are all the dirt roads closed for the winter?

Looking for a winter camping spot better than a snopark where we can do some skiing or walking with the dog.
