Hope all is well here on Tacoma World! I transitioned to a Tundra in 2017 so its been a while. Im "helping" a buddy research and would appreciate advice on which settings to level. He has a 3rd gen 4x4 Dbl cab with a CBI front bumper and an ARE camper shell and currently on stock suspenion. From what I have reviewed thus far Im leaning on recommending he sets at #4/5. He plans keeping rear at stock height and installing 5160s. Thanks.

Sold the Tacoma- Miss it! It was an 08 6 speed manual but had a crappy body lift - spacers, add-a-leaf and blocks. Had some tranny issues that Toyota covered. The Tundra has been done different. Its a 17. I have 6112s set at 1.3/1.9, rear stock with 5160s, Dirty Deeds exhaust (Keith is a buddy of mine), and went Method 701s zero offset with Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ 295/70r17. It came out well balanced for a daily driver that I take on trails here in SOCAL occaionally.

So how do you like the Tundra? I'm looking at getting a full size - kinda leaning toward a F150? Any regrets? Maneuverability, gas mi, park in garage? On the plus side Comfort, Power in spades, roomy etc. As far as your friend goes I think he's going to want something for the rear? 1.5 AAL's perhaps? With a shell its got to be sagging and bottoming if you put anything in it?

Night and day difference.... love the way it rides. Best bang for your buck set up in my opinion.

@HB Taco. I love the Tundra and plan on driving till wheels fall off. Initially went to dealer for a new Tacoma and was shocked at prices...Ended up driving that Tundra and loved the size and power. I went OCD researching how to negotiate best OTD price and scored- it was a battle though. Its great for road trips and hauls ass. The Tundra won't fit in my garage... parking is no issue however at times I am strategic to avoid door dings, and MPGs was not a factor for me; she's a full size beast and hydrates accordingly. After I upsized tires and change wheels (0 offset) I get about 14 combined- I drive it fairly aggressive though. As far as the F150 not sure. Raptors are sweet but cost as much as a house did in the 80's!

sure but mine is not at stock height in the back anymore, so it might not serve any purpose for those planning on that as a final result. I decided to keep some rake since I may be carrying 200 lbs continuously and I temporarily installed a 1" block. I also want to load my motorcycles in the back and get a feel how 1" in the back is with 600lbs of motos. When I finally get my camper shell on and/or moto test completed, I'll decide on a permanent solution for the back.

With 265/75-16 Michelin Defenders on 16x8 zero offset Konig Countersteers

With my truck I got 1.75" in the front and 1" in the back from stock measurements. I did notice that my access cab sat higher in stock configuration than double cabs at the dealership.. I even pulled a tape to measure and checked.

Finally got everything installed. Suspension ride is a little more firm. Which I enjoy. I went 6/5 with a Deaver AAL. Rake is on point. Definitely recommended!

Looks good! The deaver AAL how much lift does it provide? Also can it carry additional weight?

Not too much. Don’t know the exact measurement but with the four stock wheels/tires in the back on the way home. I still did see a slight rake. It hasn’t settled in yet. So we’ll see after that.

Nice. The Deaver AAL's are most likely the best AAL set you can buy. I've had mine on for over 6 years and they are still holding up fine. I can hook up our trailer with about 500lb tongue (with WDH) plus have the bed loaded and 4 of us in the truck no problem. All without the OL springs in. Yet still rides compliant with the bed empty. Although my bumper and tonneau add about 150lbs? The lift nets about 1.5" after settling.

No worries. Aside from the fact that they are 7 miles from my place, that's all they do so it was an easy choice for me. I actually went there to inquire about options. An hour or so later I drove away with them installed. At the time I had just had toyota TSB springs installed which improved things but still wanted just a bit more. I though it would be temporary for a few years till Id get a full pack. It still sits and rides just as good as it did then (almost 8 years ago now that I think about it) If you want a full leaf pack or custom set up no better place to go. They should pay me for this? LOL https://deaverspring.com/product-category/leaf-springs/toyota/
