21.7% off...on the fringe of a decent deal. Lol. Congrats. Glad it worked out!

Just goes to show how much margin and therefore profit are really in these trucks.

I did most of my deal over the phone. The dealer sent me a screenshot of the sales program they use so I could get a look at the numbers. It included what they're making on the deal.

I bought my DCLB TRD OR for MSRP, $40,163. They were making $1940.

For those looking at a new TRD-OR, Charles Maund in Austin has a number of them in stock and has some incentives. The E-price, which is not advertised is usually a little less.

Unless you have actual proof what the dealer paid for the truck, you are speculating.

That said, “losing” a couple of grand by Berkshire Hathaway is pocket change.

I'm in the same shoes, wanting the same truck, SoCal, a dealer just emailed me MSRP as the final price. I guess I won't be doing business with that dealer. In the means time, I'll put the money into stocks instead.

When they have no actual photo it usually means they are in transport from Houston to Austin, I would call to check if they have it on the lot. I bought my truck in September from Charles maund Toyota. My sales guy was Johnathan Madrid, got me the exact truck that I wanted with the options I wanted.

When I was searching around for my 2021 SR5 replacement, I found plenty of 2021 DCSB 4x4 OR. What I had a hard time finding was DCLB OR 4x4. Glad that corporate toyota helped and stepped up

I don’t claim to be an expert or disrespectful, but you have asked for a comparison. I can tell you that I purchased a TRD OR 4X4 with premium package, advanced technology package, factory tonneau cover, LED lights, mud guards, bed step, carpeted mats and sill guards, wheel locks and spare tire lock, bed mat, locking tailgate lock including delivery charges, before TTL for $40,597. I don’t know where you are located, but what you paid seems a bit high to me. The “Market Adjustment” seems particularly egregious.

Just the same, you got a nice truck and every year you drive it makes the purchase price less important.

Market Adjustment is generally a load of shit. That being said, people probably do pay it and if you were super specific about wanting a cement 2wd long bed, etc. and wouldn’t take anything else then maybe that does make it a rare find. Others have posted recently that certain configurations in the long bed are rare. like 6 in the country rare. If you feel like this is not the case and you were duped by the sales people then it might not hurt trying to talk to them and then maybe Toyota customer service. Likely not much you can do about it but maybe.... Get them to throw in a warranty for free or something

    • Super White/Cement
    • V6 (Auto) 4x4
    • Technology package with options
    • Bed lights
    • Blackout kit
    • LED headlights/fogs
    • Predator steps
    • Tint
    • Vehicle protection premium package
    • Mudflaps
    • Power-lock tailgate
    • Premium carpet mat set
Dealer negotiated by adding protection plans:
    • Toyota Extra Care - Tire & Wheel Protection (72 months)
    • ECP Appearance Protection Coatings Exterior Protection (7 Years)
    • Toyota Care Premium Wrap (6 Years)
    • Toyota Extra Care Platinum (84 months)
Normally I wouldn't get any sort of protection plan but I've already used them a few times for the windshield. Sometimes if I look at my windshield the wrong way it will chip.

I probably could have just talked them down more in price, but my warranty is good for 125,000 miles; my tires, rims, dents, and windshield for 6 years; my paint/headlights/molding from scratches/UV/hard spots/salt/damage for 7 years; and all my maintenance is covered for 95,000 miles. Coming from an Ecoboost F-150 that cost me a massive amount in out-of-warranty repairs, I was happy with the extra coverage.

    Well said!

Locally Penske is getting 4-5K over MSRP and Bob Smith sold one at 7K over MSRP last night. When other people pay market adjustment (I saw with Civic Type R and many others), it forces rest of us to go further and further away, because local dealers know they can get the market adjustment, so why not. Corona sold one last week, 2495 of MSRP
