Good to hear that 2 silos might be a better place to visit when I get back. Hopefully the reservation deal will settle itself out by then.

I went shortly after they opened and wasn’t impressed. I do seek out beer, so I was pretty excited at the prospect of having a great venue and potentially great beer close to family and where I lived. Turned out that I thought the beer was meh, but the location/venue was great (again, just my opinion). Regardless, I’ll have to check them out again, thanks!

I have thought the same. Beer is ok, so I won't go there for the beer, but if friends wanted to go, I would join them.

I will say that my buddy and I showed up without a reservation and they helped us out, so they get a +1 for that. I do like the place in Haymarket, the Farm Brewery, better.

Just saw this on their website.

"In light of the challenges facing our industry, Villagio Hospitality Group has introduced a 3.5% Sanitation Fee to assist with the additional expense of required personal protective equipment and sanitizing equipment for our dedicated teams. This charge will be added to your final bill."

Yeah..... fuck those guys. Better beer, better hospitality, better price, better small business owners vs. corporate greed elsewhere.

So I call this the baofang 5000 mount. Not sure if 3rd gens have the same tray to mount it but we are going to run the truck over “bumps” soon to see if they don’t shift too much. EC73C734-3218-4F58-8400-3CCBA2563C9E.jpg

Looking for recommendations for an electrician to hardwire a 240V heater from an existing exterior GFCI. Please PM me if you have anything, thanks.

The Farm Brewery is great! You should also check out Powers Farm and Brewery in Midland (outside of Warrenton on Meetze Rd). Small venue and fantastic beer.

This is what I just rigged up last weekend. Got the holster from eBay and have it mounted to the DMM from TacoGarage. Had to slightly modify the holster to make it work, but its pretty solid

Someone on Thingieverse had this thing:

    PXL_20210108_195810702.jpg

    PXL_20210108_195826958.jpg

Had redesigned it in Tinkercad to be like this and allow vent clipping:

    firefox_tqvVNOResx.jpg

However the printer had some alignment issues and spat out this design:

Here's the link to the holster, but be forewarned the threaded washer on the back is too big for the bolt on the Ram mount that TacoGarage sells. I had to make a new washer, tap the right size hole, and weld it onto the existing washer. I believe someone on TW makes a plastic holster from a 3D printer but I dont have the link handy.

Edit: not sure what's going on but I could not for the life of me get this post to reference Tim's post asking for the link to the holster

Thx. I'm probably not going to use theirs. I have a 22mm ball mount on the dash now for the phone and an extra one sitting in the office. Those will work as I want to focus on exterior armor for the time being.

Can't pull that up at work, but I bought a metal one off eBay that had a 1/4" nut tacked on the back. The RAM ball threaded in fine. Just added arm and it was good. The 1/4" size is pretty standard as far as stuff like that is concerned. Same size as a camera tripod, etc. I will say that someone on here makes a mount that includes a way to hang a shoulder mic. If you're using one with the BF I would look for a mount that has that.

The one I bought SAYS it has a 1/4" nut, but it was much bigger. If you're able to send the link to the one you bought, I would recommend folks get that one for a cleaner install.

Mike (@2016Taco4Me) and I are planning to meet up tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 for happy hour at Aslin Brewery in downtown Herndon, if anyone is interested in joining us. They don't serve food but do allow you to bring your own food or have it delivered.
