Is your green Taco at my buddy Seth's garage?! I'm pretty sure that was your taco that he was working on. He said you got it for a crazy deal and drove it from VA Beach area!

I go to cars and coffee most weekends (non covid)..It's only about 10 minutes from my house.

Damn you got your Tacoma for free? That's better than my two 2004's that I bought for $500 & $600.

 

Yeah they are downsizing and this truck was not being used much anymore. They knew I have a thing for Toyota trucks, so I jumped when they offered it to me. Haha that is still a killer deal for two trucks. Since I got mine for free, I just look at it like I can put more money into it fixing it up.

 

I meant to ask you, what wheels are on your truck? Ray10?

 

Good deal. I bought my first Tacoma with a seized 3.4 for $500 off of a customer at my work. Customer told my coworker that he wasn't interested in having it repaired and that he would have Crazy Ray's pick it up. My coworker told him that I buy Toyota 4x4's for projects. Truck only had147k miles when I bought it. I installed a 70k mile motor that I had bought for $1400 shipped from Arizona, then suspension lift, tundra brakes, wheels/tires ect... My other Tacoma I bought from a TW member in Pa for $600. It ran & drove great but it had a rusted area on the frame. That's fixed and now I just use it as my winter beater. It has 492k miles on its original drivetrain.

 

Yep. I bought them brand new in the boxes from a local TW member for $600.

 

That's an awesome deal for both of those trucks. Jealous!

Yeah, this 96 had the typical rust by the right rear shock mount as well as the front leaf spring perch on the right side. Surprisingly, the rest of the frame is fine inside after inspecting it.

 

Mine was rusted near the leaf spring mount. A fellow TW member cut out the rusted area and welded new metal in for me. Lots of good deals here on TW. I bought this 94 triple locked Landcruiser from a member on here for $1700. This pic is from the day I bought it. Its rusty but it drives fine. I use it up at my cabin for a beater. It doesn't look this nice no more.
