Best part of this trip (there was a few moments)

“hey has anyone seen my radio antennae......oh and my cb antennae” lol was laughing too hard at that. We went through that brush for almost a day....was super tight. Loads of fun.

Also when @Thyces warned us not to go down the road he was just on.....lol epic.

Tacoma originally I thought it.could pull the runner and trailer. It can't. Too much stress.
I'll just let it sit for a couple of years and see what happens.

Yeah, taco isn’t a great tow rig. Can be done. A few guys on the forum in the states doing it. What are the specs on the 4runner?

Very cool. Sure there is a lot of memories with that thing. How was it being on tons with 35’s? Enough clearance? Or would 37-40’s been better?

It needed more clearance from tire to body.
From axles to ground was fine. Then14 bolt is 1" shaved
35's and 538 gears were needed to make the 22re medicore on the highway. The engine is underpowered.
But for years a very good daily driver with that set up.

That’s my plan with the 14 bolt as well. Don’t think I’m going to do the full shave that will require the ring gear to be machined though. Still trying to figure out gears. Mind you I’ll have to run bigger then 35’s just because of trail limo. Mind you the rear of the frame may be chopped and doing some 63’s in the rear. See how it goes. Hoping the clearancing I’m doing now will help down the road.

Soon enough. Going to be doing some work to make the truck last while building the axles. Slowly acquiring parts and figuring it all out.

thinking for the rear it will just be on leads. Debating to keep the Dakar and aftermarket hangers with relocated shocks.

front will be a 3 link on coilovers (no idea on lengths yet (10-14’s maybe). Figure out hydro assist for that.

have to do some electrical work to keep the speedo (set it up like a manual truck where it takes speed at the t case).

steering and brakes I’m figuring out. Have lots of time to research. Should be fun/interesting to go through this and learn.

    Very good option,

I end up using a 40"+ long under the bed box with wheels to put under my shelf. Got it for free, but they are 18$ at walmart. if you build a shelf, you can place 2 side by side

I run one of those filled with straps of different kinds, a 10x10 tarp, 40 feet of rope, a fuel funnel, and probably a couple of other little bobs and ends squished in there.
It juuuuuust fits under the tonneau cover (Undercover Ultraflex/ Bakflip) while upright with the hinge facing down. it's a nice little box, not had any water get in yet and even if it did, not really a concern with that's in there
    IMG_20210109_115920142.jpg
For $15 i might get another for some recovery straps and bow shackles.
