3rd or fourth no need for control arms I would stay at 3rd setting. 4th setting you will need rear lift. IMO. Also definitely need an alignment no matter what.

Here's the after! 5100s all around and the front set at 1.1''. Couldn't be happier. It's probably confirmation bias but the ride feels buttery smooth, especially coming from the original shocks and struts having 70k mile on them.

Question: One page one of this thread there is a sheet that shoes the 5100 settings. It shows 5 settings and I often hear members talking about th 5th setting. On page 2 there is a video on Bilstein 5100's. The shock only has 4 settings. What am I missing???!!!

Go to 5th setting you will be good. You might need control arms.

The shocks were about $400 on sale and another $75 for the cast iron block in the rear. Took a few hours to install and I am so much happier with the ride.

I think that the reason it "settled" was because the top rubber that the spring sits in wasn't properly aligned with the spring and after some driving it reseated itself. I know everyone says they don't settle but mine did and this might be the reason why.

Not sure if anyone asked already I currently have 5100's set to the 5th setting the front is a touch high I was hoping it would settle but I guess that’s not the case. I wish I ran across this forum before install. Would it be better to drop to 3rd or 4th notch or go ahead and just do AAL? I did not replace factory control arm, I am using factory coil I haven’t had any ride problems since install.

IMO You could install AAL now bring the rear up and you will have a little rake.

This is the finished install with 285 65 r18 nitto ridge grapplers. To fit the tires on factory rims, I had to put wheel spacers on to clear the control arms. No cutting or bending of plastic needed with this setup but I am unsure of the factory wheel offset. First two pictures are with everything. The second two are with the lift and factory tires, and the last two are factory setup. [IMG][IMG]

Sorry for the thread/pic revival. I have the same truck as you, same billy suspension sitting in garage, want to do the same .65 lift. Need to know if you had to use a strut spacer to correct any lean with this small of a lift?
