To be fair, you went from a 2012 tacoma to a 2012 GX460, so a fairly lateral movement as far as safety and tech. Going from a 2017 tacoma to a 2006 GX470 would be a big step backwards.

I posted in here earlier in the week but I thought I'd post one last time now that the tires are dismounted. 295/70r17 yokohama MT with 1,000 miles on them for $700.

Wish I could help you bud...another year or so I'd snap them up, but am nowhere near low tread problems with the current setup.

I would love to get these. Then I would just need to drop $5k+ on a new suspension to match! Now I'm starting to think like Dave...all I need to do is convince myself it will eliminate car payments

Really all you need is a cab mount chop, hammer that pinch weld flat and do a little plastic trimming and you'll be set! You've got a welder and CMC's aren't that difficult.

It's that pinch weld hammering that is omitted in his pep talk!!

--> this guy still hasn't added that "simple" hammer job on my To-Do list:anonymous:

Think of how mean they'd look on your truck. Though you would need some wheel spacers up front to clear your UCA's.

I finally just got to the point and did it. A little notching and a BFH. And magic. My off-road tires will grab the liner from time to time. Which makes little sense, but I just work here, man.

Best I can do is construct a large raft out of paper machete and push it in the general direction of Hawaii. Whether it makes it there or not is anyones guess.

Yeah, it would be great to knock it off the list this weekend, especially if I'm already dropping the wheel to be mucking around with this leaky driver side SPC ball joint issue. Trying to get the truck up on the in-laws 2pt lift this weekend to reseat the ball joint and see if that fixes the grease leaking issue.

After the trip out and back from @3pooches (plus all the fun times there) and then pulling my trailer with plumbing materials (less than 1k load in trailer) the bottom of the boot/upper spindle arm has a nice thick grease "love handle"!

Figured when you pay a "fabricator*" to do your CMC the pinch weld would be included:rofl:...but I guess you get what you paid for!!!!!!!!!!

*=I kid, I got what was discussed and I am only giving Randy crap!!
