    Hey all,

Thought I'd say hi. Im new to the Toyota Tacoma world. My truck I currently drive is a 1999 GMC Sonoma SLS stepside. It has 180k on it, and its been a decent truck, but for a 4cyl truck that gets a mere 22mpg. It is GUTLESS. Im talking, a dodge neon is faster than my truck. Granted thats not what Im here for, its time to upgrade.

Im looking for an 05+ model, or what yall call a 2nd gen. Apparently there are 18 models to chose from? LORD! Someone want to tell me what im looking for then?

Looking for 2005-2007 Tacoma with extended bed, 4cyl, manual trans, cruise control. Thats about it.

Hoping I can get some tips from you pro's and grab a truck in the coming weeks. Thanks again.

    Darren in Seattle (covington)

Longbed 4cyl? Just get the 6cyl it's still pretty gas efficient but you'll regret the 4 banger all day long.

I use my truck for commuting 60 miles a day, but 12 days a year or so, we load 3 dirtbikes up and head off into the woods. Its the only 12 days I really haul, and even then, you're talking 500lbs or so, :)

TW folks seem to really like the i4? My thing is I still want a manual for sure.
