As stated, it's pretty impossible to fuck up seating a bead. If it wasn't seated, it wouldn't be holding air. I was very intimate with some 9" wide wheels this week (spent 8 hours mounting tires on beadlocks) and the previous tires on the wheels had a gap similar to that. Those were 295s on a 9" wide wheel. It would never hurt to get it double checked but it looks fine to me.

but like others have said if it wasnt seated you wouldnt be driving so i dont see an issue other than shit getting in there and blowing your bead out

Yea that’s where I’m like maybe that’s it. But I’m curious... going to just go to 75psi then back down see if the thing pops more out into place or not haha

I don't know what the max recommend pressure is for your tires but it should be on the sidewall. I'd double-check that before going that high. That said, it only takes like 15 psi to seat a bead.

Just found a guy with a Lexus on Instagram running same size rims with same offset and tires. I think they just sit like that and gotta deal with it until I throw a wider tire on the rim..

Yeah, that's what I figured. And you're not at risk of "getting shit in there and blowing the bead" because of the gap. Worst case scenario you get a little grit in there and you develop a small leak. I've done that a few times on previous setups and it took a tire shop all of 20 minutes to fix it for me. So I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I think it’s more about the tire model. I had 265/70/17 nitto ridge grapplers and they seated more flush. I switched to 285/70/17 cooper XLTs and I can see the rim edge more now with the new tires.

Youre not alone, I noticed it first but it didn’t bother me too much.

I've already answered this question to the OP through Instagram. It's the design of the BFG KO2 that's causing this look. They don't have what's called a rim guard, scratch guard, rim protector or whatever else it's referred to as. Certain tires like the Nitto Ridge Grapplers have them so it looks more flushed with the wheels and offers better rash protection than a KO2 tire.

265s-285s be look more pronounced than a 315 so size does come into play a little. I have 315s KO2 on one of our Ray10 17x9 -38mm wheel and it's showing a little lip. Whereas my Goodyear MTR 315 sat almost flushed. I hope this makes sense.
