I planned to with a custom front bumper that ties into the JD mount, transfer skid is something I want to visit but I’m not sure which route I want to go yet.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
I have relentless rear skids, which have that conventional 45 degree angle and 3 bolt setup just like in the pictures I see in the last few posts. I welded a tail onto the JD front skid, bent the rear skid flat, and bolted them straight together, same bolt holes on the rear skid and counter sunk bolts just like JD uses to hold the front skid on. Gained an inch or so of clearance since the rear skid didn't have to bend down to meetup with the front skid. Was pretty simple truthfully. Would be awesome if the JD skid was extended in this fashion from the get-go, but I realize not everyone will be running a full skid setup, and many of the rear skids are different.

No one's mid skid attaches to the JD Fab one you have to adapt them. Look at the pics of the JD Fab skid it has no attachment points on the rear of it to bolt to a mid skid you have to do a custom or adapt them to bolt together.

Well, I did say "Here's a pic of my 'runner." The statement should be pretty self explanatory.

I'm done with my frame issues, it's side tracking an otherwise awesome thread about some great parts that we can actually buy.

That’s what I figured. Thanks for clarifying. I assumed there would be some modification to whatever aftermarket mid skid you had...

I’m super excited to tear into this one... doing the +4 kit along with some really cool bumper mods, shell install, 60-40 swing gate and a full prep. This is one of the OG Tacoma builds that has been going strong for a decade and I can’t wait to see it with a full face lift!

    Yes

... actually it was already replaced once a few years ago. I got "lucky " - it got hit on the RF corner and insurance covered it with the collision repairs so it got painted too.

Dude!!!! I was just looking at that same thing, and closed the page, only to see an email of a thread update where you said what I wanted to say!

-EDIT- I see it was replaced. But still, damn, was it all cracked up before or just bent from the collision?

That is one pristine radiator core support. Man I wish mine looked like that!!! I recently took a gamble on buying a cheapo aftermarket core support from the interwebs, it clearly isn't as high of quality as the OEM, which I expected for under $100 shipped. But welding and working on the original, compared to installing a new one and reinforcing that, along with making sure the core support mounts are in good shape - might be easier.

Has anyone ever replaced their core support before? I wonder how hard it is. I can see the A/C lines come through it to connect to condenser... so that right there is a job I would need help with. Any guidance?

Is this going to be an auxiliary fuel tank or a replacement?

Yeah it had a few good tears in it that I had drilled to interrupt and tacked back together. After I ditched the OE body bushings it didn’t reappear though. My truck never gets beat on too hard IE: whoops and jumps etc it’s my daily and an overland pig built for surf missions but you’d be amazed how much damage you can incur from endless hours on washboard roads in Baja. I’ve been through two leaf packs, broken lca’s and a tweaked rear frame just from “ Overlanding “ and had to have shit welded back together in a shop with a dirt floor just to get back to SD.
