Ummmmm so I was under probation for DWI didn't think that would cause an issue and got denied I walked out under my own free will not in Cuffs. Why would the 401k thing stop you from purchasing

It literally takes 5 min to fill out your side the rest is done by the gun store as it has to do with their FFL and transfer etc.

That is for long guns I am not sure of the laws in SC for pistol purchases as those may be different.
