Yokohama Geolandar MT-G003

I had these installed almost a month ago, but just getting around to posting some photos now. These are 255/75/17 on 17" FJC steelies. No lift; the suspension is stock. After getting them on I've been to AOAA offroad park twice and just this past weekend I had them at Rausch Creek offroad park and I can only say they are a huge improvement over highway tires!!

No action shots yet... I haven't gotten out of the truck to take a photos on the trail yet. It's my first time on M/T tires (or any tread other than highway for that matter) so I can't really offer any comparisons or anything like that, but I do love them.

man that looks great. whats your experience on the highway so far? after your post I'm sold on the size but don't want to kill my highway drivability on trips. any feedback appreciated

 

Anyone have a photo of these aired down to around 15 psi? I'm trying to get a feel for how much the sidewalls flex vs other tires I'm familiar with.

 

Slap on C load and you'll be alot better off.

 

I'm not aware of any load c mud terrains in a 33 or 285/75r16.

Just the front. Here is a comparison between stock. They are only slightly narrower at 255mm, but to me it's unnoticeable in person. It's easier for me to spot the difference in width in these photos than with the naked eye. The Geolandars do run on the taller side for 255/75/17 at 32.3"

I haven't had any drivability issues on the highway. The tires feel very planted. No issues in a downpour a few days ago. I did lose around 2.5mpg or so from my average, but I can't blame it all on the tires since I also switched to the heavier steel wheels at the same time and my driving style has been a bit more heavy-footed recently too!

 

Please update with how you like them and any drawbacks you encounter. This is gonna be my next tire

Knobs are big but my 285/75/16 sure are skinny lookin.

 

Same here but i prefer the narrower 285. They MAY allow me to remove my wheel spacers without rubbing the frame on stock wheels.

 

Ha. I actually had to remove my Spider Trax spacers so they wouldn’t rub and now they sit way inside the fender giving it an awful stance in my opinion. Trying to figure out how to run the spacer without doing a body chop. It is nice having full articulation with the stock wheels but it just doesn’t look right. With the spacers they only rub in one certain section of the Body mount. Maybe I could carefully just grind down that section. We’ll see.

 

Just joined the club. 285/70/17. These are pretty rowdy looking tires! Raised the front CO's up to 2" over stock last night after these were installed and getting alignment today. Rear sitting at 1" over stock with aal. Leaf pack in the near future. I've only driven to work this morning and they are noticeable, but not obnoxious. As far as weight goes, I really didn't notice them coming from 265/70/17 KO2 load range C.

***EDIT*** highway gas mileage is dismal!

I went from nearly stock to this over the last month. All by myself, in my garage. I'm liking the results so far. These tires are the icing on the cake. Proud owner here!

 

Have you done any trimming or cab mount chop in order to clear these?
Im running 285/75/16's right now and have the slightest rub on my cab mount but am considering going up to the 315's.

I finally got mine mounted. 295/70/17 on Black Rhino wheels. I have a BMC and only rub on the mud-flaps, which I can fix. I'm impressed with the ride quality, and the noise is not bad. Gas mileage went in the crapper, but I think it will be better in warmer weather.

I was so used to fake beadlocks, it took me awhile to get used to the wheels. They grew on me, though!
