Dumped exhaust

Anyone else do this

 

Sometimes a dumped pipe can cause not only a change in tone but more cabin drone and more vibration . Just giving my input.

Glad it worked for you. Two benefits are that the exhaust weight less than if it went over the axle and all the way to the back so you shedding a little weight. Also you dont have to worry about clearance if you lower the rear aggressive enough to need a c notch etc. My exhaust goes over the axle to the rear bumper. I'm 3.5" lower from stock in the back and maybe there is 2" clearance of travel from the 2.25" pipe and the rear axle. I have the stock rear bumpstops to prevent it hitting. To lower my suspension more I would have to modify the exhaust to get it to work without hitting, you have to have room for the suspension travel. It works for me though, haven't had issues and I all ready spent enough money on it.

 

Yes, I did it so I wouldn't smash it on the trails.

 

You can actually change the sound by adding a tip. A larger tip will deepen the sound more and a smaller single or double will bring the tone up higher. I see where you cut the pipe is pretty close to the axle now. If you cut it higher you can get more room to not hit the axle when the suspension cycles and tune the sound even better or more if youd like by experimenting with different style tips. Just a thought.

This may be a stupid question, but why?

 

It just looked cleaner cause I didn’t have money for a tip lol
