Solar panel compatibility is based on the voltage output on the solar panel matching the power station. Typically they provide a compatible voltage range, but I haven't found it in their specs. They tend to be universal so i'm going to assume that any solar panel should work.

Their max solar input is 120w, but they recommend 150w. The idea is that the higher wattage solar panel will provide close to 120w in a overcast day. I did research a while ago and i'm planning to buy this one:

    https://www.amazon.com/Richsolar-Mo...eywords=rich+solar+100w&qid=1608561501&sr=8-3

Nice and cheap that I can put it on top of the RTT when im biking/hiking and not worry about it being stolen. Maybe drill through the aluminum extrusion and put a chain through it to keep everyone honest lol if I need more then I can buy their 50w solar panel and connect them.

Im estimating close to 70 hours with my JP40 set to 32F, ambient temp 70F, and not opening the fridge. But I get random errors on my power station. I emailed them but they're away for christmas. Im thinking to exchange for another and if it persists, then warranty the fridge.

Update: Please don't order from Midland. The power station has issues and they haven't been able to resolve it or warranty it for me. Since December 16th I have sent 3 emails and called at least 10 times. I'm starting to know everyone's names at customer support. I can't stress how bad their customer support is!

Bummer. Sorry to hear this! What issues are you experiencing with the power station?

Theres some kind of internal circuit protection that always trips and then it displays "ERROR" on the screen. I've already talked to 5 different ppl at their customer support. They will say "ill have another sent" but then they dont. Or say thay they will call back and never do. Or transfer me to peoples cell phones that don't answer. Im at the point that I'm giving them a ton of bad publicity until someone fixes this. I cant believe it's come to this, but ill do everything i can to get my $600 or a replacement power station.

It looks the same as the rockpals. Probably is the same because it all comes from the same manufacturer. I returned the rockpals 500 because the actual capacity was about 350wh, not 500. And they have a stupid thing that the DC outlet turns off after 6 hours. Seems to be a common complaint.

The jackery is expensive for its capacity,, but I really wish I had just bought the jackery 500 from the beginning. I wasted so much time between the rockpals and midland power stations

How can you test the capacity? 40bucks for 4 year warranty. Might worth it

Charge it to full capacity and then discharge it with a watt meter. I did it a few times. I only tested because the runtime on my fridge was lower than expected. I'm curious if the cheaper brands use refurbished laptop batteries and thats how they're able to provide cheap lithium power stations

It could be refurbished laptop batteries, that why either you get good brand or warranty. I being looking for hours, this is best bang of bucks if it’s has 500w.
Most on Amazon 250w for 200bucks.

You mean warranty until a good power station is sent? I ordered directly from rockpals and their customer support isn't good either. They dont speak English and don't even try to use a translator. Still they aren't as bad as midland customer support lol.

Ordering things from Amazon is a good idea because they protect the customer.
